So are they split up for the DVD release?

I’ve heard things.

Hopefully they are. And hopefully later on we’ll get a DVD with the April 6th, cut of the film.

Why hopefully?

I’d think it’d be neater to have both movies back-to-back like in the theater. It certainly made the experience, I thought.

Plus, which movies get which trailers and so forth on the dvd release?

If they do that then they really are money grubbing whores. By having different “parts” for DP and PT I’m assuming it’ll be theatrical version and the restored extended cuts?

I’m seeing this look the same way Sin City arrived with the bare bones version first and the “Recut,Extended,Unrated” 2-Disc later on.

Pretty sure the first DVD releases will have the extended (Possibly Unrated) versions of the solo movies (Death Proof already felt short enough) And maybe 2 of the faux 4 trailers on each disc.

And then we’ll get the mega-edition that will have the theatrical cut, unrated extended versions, and the special features. There SHOULDN’T be any more multiple editions than that (Unless you include that HD/Blu-ray crap)

I also wonder if there will be any store-exlclusive treats. What I mean by that is that here, in America, the big-store chains will often have their own “addition” for a DVD release. Examples:

X-Men III

Best Buy-Comic Book

Wal Mart-Bonus Disc

Target-Tin case

Superman Returns

Best Buy-Book

Target-Hologram cover

Circuit City-Bonus Disc

Star Wars III

Best Buy-Poster

Circuit City-Coin

Wal Mart-Bonus Disc

Casino Royale

Wal Mart-Poker gift set

Target-Script

I do hope that there’s a big edition that will include lobby cards of the 2 films 8)

Whats Death Proof Part 1 and Part 2? Is that the theatrical cut DVD and the extended cut DVD? That shit is RIDICULOUS!! Theyre actually putting out all those DVDS?! Ill buy Death Proof and then wait for the Grindhouse Ultimate Special Extended Super Duper Edition.

Fake trailers on a separate DVD? Thats crazy too.

It was a joke guys, calm down.

Oh shit, I thought that was REAL! I was like: WTF? :o

Dont ever do that again…I almost had a fucking heart attack!

He deserves to get hit with a piss balloon for that.

I’m really hoping that they’ll release Grindhouse exactly as it played theatrically (maybe with the few seconds of snipped gore back in as well) first off on DVD. It doesn’t have to even have any extras. As long as it’s the theatrical cut with the trailers in the exact same fashion I would be happy.

then I hope they do individual special editions of the extended versions of the seperate films.

But from what I’ve gathered, they’ll probably just split them up for the DVd released right off the bat.

I fucking like the Grindhouse experience, I am hoping to see the entire Grindhouse thing on DVD first. that’s what made the night, the two movies, the fake trailers, the whole shebang…

I also hope that both are put together for the DVD release - with trailers, intermissions, and both extended editions of each film.

…is that asking too much?

What they will probably do is split them on dvd at first than a couple months later ater that they will release Grindhouse in a double pack.

Bump.

So, any news on how they will be released? Seeing as the movies will be released here seperately, I would really like the DVD to be Grindhouse, and not just PT and DP in each their DVD (then again, why don’t just do both options, so everybody’s satisfied?). However, I NEED to have Grindhouse in one package, as I’m not even old enough to watch the movies here. Damnit, in the US I would have been old enough.

In the local cinema I work(one of these multiplex thinks yes ) there posters of Death Proof all over the place… They’re even more of Death Proof than of Oceans Thirtheen

Pretty cool!

I think I’ll get both fulllllllll-lenght-extra-editions-special features collector supreme stuff, and I’ll do my own back to back with that!

im blaming the whole debacle on harvey weinstein - a greedy bastard and the fact that qt is going along with weinstein pissing all over the fans (yet again) has made him go down in my estimation. Kurt Russel is the only one telling it like it is. If we dont get the grindhouse dvd first ill go mad!
