Back to the real topic please.
I dont get one thing. On many moviesites they are saying that sam jackson has a big role. But you nearly cant see him. On the starringslist he stands very high. Its like he is playing a big role.

well sammy J. is a better actor than his wife probably is so it wuz most likely for the best…
Mr. OrANgE
i didnt even see him when i saw the movie
funny how Yuki is also part of the name of the character of Lady ShowBlood.
But I tought Kill Bill was the movie that the characters form Pulpfiction went to see, if so, then how the hell could Jules come in, he could only come in the movie as an actor, and then Samuel wouldnt be credited.

I highly doubt Jules quit the life of a gangster and learned to play the organ.
The only way I’ll think it might be Jules is if Sam has the same geri curl hairdo he did in Pulp. Then Ill be like: WTF?! Thats too much of a coincidence.
But like QT said The Movie Movie Universe doesnt contain the same characters as his Real World films. The only character he said can jump worlds is The Wolf. Jules cant be in Kill Bill.
I was listening to the commentary on Once Upon a Time In The West DVD and the dude said Sergio Leone had a thing he called “Cinema Cinema”. It was what he called films that had homages and references to other films. I wouldnt doubt if thats where QTs “Movie Movie Universe” theory originated.
No, it is just a role from sam jackson in a tarantino movie, he isnt Jules or Ordell.
I read this somewhere : Samuel L. Jackson’s character Rufus was also rumored to be Jules from Pulp Fiction because of Jules’ want to “walk the earth”.
Do you think Rufus is Jules in disguise?
could be yeah
where did you read it?

Shit I never think to that. Its possibly true, but I don’t think Jules was dead without do a thing. Its a too bad death for someone like Jules
I posted this in IMDb just now… maybe it will help you a bit Lets just say its true
…
That is very interesting… In fact at right this moment I am writing a 3000 word essay for my english-class… I also included pulp fiction and kill bill… Then just that same question popped into my mind all of a sudden is Jules - Rufus?.. So I analysed the two scenes… the one in the diner at the end of pulp-fiction where Jules tells us his plans and the scene where Rufus tells us about himself… There are quite a few good points in there, mostly I looked at the things Jules and Rufus said.
Here is a quote from my Essay… please if you use it somewhere else at least give me some credit …

What particularly struck me about the beginning of Kill Bill vol.2, in the scene of the ceremony repetition was the pianist sitting in the corner of the church, Rufus. He is played by Samuel L. Jackson, the same actor who played Jules Winnfield in Pulp-fiction. If you then listen to his short dialog you can even assume that Jules and Rufus are one and the same.
“I was a drail, I was a drifter, I was a coaster, I was part of the gang…
When you look the words drail, drifter and coaster, up in the dictionary you come up with some interesting results. If you look up drail you get referred to the words ‘to trail’ and ‘draggle’. To trail in its turn is defined as ‘To walk or proceed with dragging steps’ or ‘trudge’. And draggle would be straggle and straggle is defined as “to move or become spread out over a large area “. From Rufus’s words we can therefore assume that he was a traveler of some sort. Nothing special if you look at it that way, but if you then put that into the context of the last scene in pulp-fiction where Jules stated that he wanted to get out of the criminal scene and that he;
“Now whether or not what we experienced was an according to Hoyle miracle is insignificant but what is significant is that I felt the touch of God… I don’t know why but I can’t go back to sleep “First I am going to deliver this case to Wallace then basically… I am just going to walk the earth… You know walk from place to place, meet people, get in adventures. How long? “Until God puts me where he wants me to be… If it takes forever then I’ll walk forever.
In this conversation we get reintroduced for a moment to the religious beliefs of Jules, he is very religious and open about it. When a man with a gun burst in the room, when Vincent and Jules were busy recollecting a briefcase for their boss, and emptied the gun on them but didn’t hit them, Jules was convinced that they had witnessed ‘divine intervention’. This revelation was the reason for his enthusiasm to ‘get out of the life’. Jules intends on ‘walking the earth’ and becoming a loner and basically walk the earth and become a homeless traveler. Furthermore Rufus works as a pianist in a church as a witness to (if he is considered to exist) God about what was going on in the church when the deadly viper assassination squad walked in and opened fire. This might be the place God put him in. “Until God puts me where he wants me to be. Plus of course the fact that a church is a place where very religious people go to find answers, find rest and confess to their sins in life.
The fact that Rufus and Jules are both played by Samuel L. Jackson, and the fact that we don’t get a clear shot of Rufus in Kill Bill vol.2 both indicate that I am not entirely wrong in assuming that Rufus in fact is Jules.
This has of course no real impact on the story of Kill Bill whatsoever, Rufus hardly plays a role in the movie and a connection between Pulp-fiction and Kill Bill would be entirely irrelevant to both story-lines. It does however contain some humor or maybe just a point of interest for fans of either of the two movies or Quentin Tarantino.

Just my opinion, there’s another example of this, in Reservoir dogs, one of the characters (sorri, can’t remember who) talks about a girl named Alabama. In the original script of True Romance that QT wrote, Clarence (Christian Slater) died, so it’s possible that Alabama (Patricia Arquette) met up with the ‘dog’. [/quote]
See what you make of it =D
Greetings,

It suppose it could be Jules but it’s unlikely I think because I don’t think QT would have let Jules die that way, he’s too cool a character.

Hi I merged your topic with this "unbelievable old topi"c, because you can read here some post about your question...
I thought KB and PF are from diferent Tarantino universies ???
This is from an earlier post but where did you hear that the Wolf is the only one that can transend QT’s universe, I never heard nothin like that.

That’s why I don’t want to believe this theory
Interesting theory…
I always think that Rufus is Jules. For me he’s Jules. We can see what we want to understand. 8)
