I was amazed by Tarantino’s scene. I don’t understand how even though eh didn’t write or design it it still stuck out. I thought when Clive Started actually saying the narration, that was brilliant. Wow bad grammar…

yeh its a vert unique part that doesn’t kinda fit in you can tell that it was direct by QT

Yeah, as much as I liked the scene (it being classic Quentin) it really didn’t fit in at all. This made it look like the worst scene in the film. I got to agree, I thought QT’s part was the worst bit in the film. It was a mess, and I don’t think you should have QT do a scene in a film just because he is QT. He should only be used if you think he is the best guy for the job, or you think he can bring something new in a scene where something new is needed. A waste of QT’s talent if you ask me. Either Rodriguez was in the wrong to hire him or QT was in the wrong for not following the style and flow of the movie.

Or mabye they were both right! I loved that scene.

Well of course there are oppsing views to everything. I’m a huge QT and RR fan, but that scene was really quite shit. Also, I’ve heard and read from lots of people (from their objective point of view) that the scene stood out for the wrong reasons.

If you put the scene in the context of the film, which you should be doing anyway, and look at it objectively, you will see that it spoils the flow and style of the movie. THat scene almost kind of takes you back from the movie going experience. I was quite disappointed after watching the ‘famous QT scene’, it wasn’t at all as good as peope made it out to be.

If you see it as a QT segment separate from the film, then yeah it’s enjoyable and classic Quentin. It only lasted 5 minutes anyway. But to each his own.

So are you saying you didnt like the way the scene was wrote or directed?

I’m not saying I didn’t like the writing or directing. I just didn’t think it fit into the movie. It stood out.

I can see what you mean good point but i liked it cuase it stood out in this all ready unique film

Most people I know didn’t think it stood out. You did only because you watched the film in a certain frame of mind that the average moviegoer doesn’t. I watched it like you but loved it and felt it worked fine within the film. Nothing wrong with standing out now and then.

very true first time i watched it i didn’t notice it its was only after hearing that QT directed that scene that i noticed it standing out

Just watched Sin City for about the 3rd time today - I just love it. It is such a great film.

I didn’t like Jessica Alba much in this film - but I am not a big fan of her on the whole. Good too see Brittany Murphy break away from those chick flick roles (her acting hasn’t gotten much better but it is an improvement.) Jaime King (Goldie/Wendy) Rosario Dawson (Gail) and Devon Aoki (Miho) were brilliant. Alexis Bledel was also very good - I am not usually a fan of her work. Benicio Del Toro, Bruce Willis, Clive Owen and Nick Stahl were all brilliant. Elijah Wood was amazing as was the fabulous Mickey Rourke.

what was brilliant about devon aoki?

I liked her. Brilliant? I dunno. But very good.

Miho’s fucken scary

she would kill Pai Mei and Hattori hanzo AND the bride in a fight

well i dunno about that

OK but she would totally kill hattori Hanzo! >:(

That’s a bold statement but maybe a true one. Hanzo was a sword maker. We know nothing about his kombat skills. Maybe when/if the animated prequels come out we will find out more…

miho would kick pai mei’s ass but not the bride im not sure about hanzo tho

He only likes baseball…
