Robert De Niro And Al Pacino in the same movie?
"CANNES – Robert De Niro and Al Pacino are teaming to play New York police investigators hunting a serial killer in Jon Avnet’s $60 million thriller “Righteous Kill” for Avi Lerner’s Millennium Films and Emmett/Furla Films, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The independently financed feature written by Russell Gewirtz (“Inside Man,” the upcoming “Labyrinth”) unites the longtime friends on screen for some 90% of the film – unlike their one shared scene in Michael Mann’s “Heat” and no shared scenes in Francis Ford Coppola’s “The Godfather Part II.”
“You see those two icons onscreen together for virtually the whole film,” Lerner said at his Festival de Cannes offices, “(something) never seen before in the history of cinema. It’s one of the hardest deals we’ve ever done to put these two actors together.”

Anybody else dying to see this?
Cant wait for this Deniro and pacino rock.
don’t think the reviews have been good so far
Yeah, I’ve read a couple reviews. Apparently the film has a real lack of subtlety. Most of the blame seems to go to the script and the director though.

Well that shouldn’t come as a huge surprise. Considering it was directed by John Avnet. Who’s only good film thus far has been Fried Green Tomatoes, and most recently he was responsible for foisting the crap-fest that was
88 Minutes upon us.
It’s funny, I didn’t really know him by name until I read those few reviews so I looked him up on IMDB and saw that he’s directed 13 episodes of Boomtown which is one of my favorite cop shows. Looked a little closer and saw that the ones he directed are the ones I very rarely re-watch on DVD. Never seen any of his other work though.
It has a 22% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. That’s not good for a movie with Pacino AND De Niro. ???
The only reason to watch this is Pacino and De Niro. The script is totally predictable. I believe it’s better to watch again and again their 5 minute coexistence in Heat than this boring movie.
So anybody watched this piece of shit yet?

I did. I snuck into the theatre w/ my girlfriend & lemme just say I’m damn glad I did 'cause if I had had to pay for that shit I probably would’ve demanded a refund. Fuck John Avnet!
Such a waste of talent, it’s almost criminal. :’(
I don’t get excited for new films starring either actor anymore. They’ve been coasting on their reputation since the end of the nineties. They’re alltime greats and nothing will change that, but as of late I’d have to see a really great director attached to the project to get even remotely interested.
