No, I haven’t heard any news on this, but I just noticed recently that all copies of the current Region 1 dvd are being pulled off the shelves in numbers and it was taken out of print a few months back. So, that poses the question, all signs seem to point to a Raging Bull special edition dvd being released, (possibly a 25th Anniversary edition as early as this coming Christmas) but has anyone heard any news of this?
I heard a rumor that US will release the Region 2(not sure what region) special edition that already exists. You can get it on ebay. I hope this is true because i would definately buy this.
A 20th anniversary edition exists in the U.K. Will there be a new region 2 version?
I don’t see any signs of a new Region 2 dvd at all. The current anniversary edition is still in print and on shelves. The only reason I commented on Region 1 is because its been pulled off of all major store chain shelves.
I thought the R1 release has been OOP for a long time. I’ve looked for it in stores for the last 2 years with no luck. The only place I can find it is on ebay and half.com. There are also a lot of bootleg asian copys, look out for a blue sticker on the front and the lack of a chapter insert. It was released in 2000, so its a pretty crappy dvd. No special features and a Non-Anamorphic transfer. All I hope is that RB and Goodfellas special editions to be released this year.
Well, FYE and Barnes and Noble had it all the way up until this past Christmas, I know that much. I wish I had bought em then, but I had opted for the Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas Criterion and the Taxi Driver dvds instead.
I think they are just re-packing it. as far as I know, all those SEs (UK or US or Germany) are non-anamorphic and that sucks toad-balls
i know that there is going to a special edition for mean streets and godfellas in a few month i cant fuckin wait
There is? wow i didn’t know that - YAY! ;D

the current SE in the UK is not anamorphic, right? well if you dont have a widescreen TV the DVD is just as good i’d say
The french track sucks! Its just in Mono and the sound’s not good, but it still that the video quality is incredible. The interviews are interestingand pretty funny
