One thing that I find confusing:
When the nurse wants to kill The Bride, she gets a telephone call from Bill. She has to abort the mission and she gets a moral speech about not killing people the easy way etc.
But why would Bill send her in the first place? He already knew The Bride was lying in the hospital, being a total wreck.
I know that there is a line about the Bride being in a coma, but it sounds to me like he already made up his mind before he even heard the exact situation.
JUST a theory…but…
Perhaps Bill sent Elle (the nurse you’re talking about) to go kill The Bride in a fit of unthinking rage once he realized she, in fact, hadn’t been killed on her wedding day. Then after calming down, got a better idea and thus changed his mind. After all, Bill doesn’t seem to be the type who deals well with things not going his way… :
Thats my two cents. =P

Unfinished buisness…
He told his DIVAS to bring all their jobs right to the end. So Elle was on the way to do it.
Then he thought, that a man with honour don´t kill a “sleeping” person… Remember this samurai thing.
Don´t forget, what Elle said…
Well of course it sounds a little bit weirt, but he is able to kill a pregnant woman, but to kill her without a chance to fight is not his way.
Sorry, if my english is so bad, if don´t understand me, send me a post.
He probably thought it was a good idea at the time, but decided against it. And also, if it went through as planned, Kill Bill would be a pretty short movie, wouldn’t it?

I like this theory. I think it makes more sense with the script. And also I think when the Bride said that the baby was his in the beginning, he somehow reacted and screwed up his point blank aim.
Maybe he wants Elle to die and knows the Bride can kick her ass.

Wow, you think you're so witty don't you? ::)
What the hell are you talking about?
Maybe he wants Elle to die and knows the Bride can kick her ass.
First: Why should he wanna Elle dieing(sp?)?
I mean, he fucks her and she works for him, what more could he want?
Second: If he wanna the dead of Elle, there would be thousands of possilbilitys to do it for himself.
I think the way the bride choose the "victims" (or not-victims) is biased on the plot development and shows how good QT is..
Can i just say that i absoloutly loved the way that Elle was dressed, it was so cool, she had a eye patch with the red cross on it and a belt drawn on her! Pure genius!
OK, we don’t really know the extent of the relationship at this point, or at least if you haven’t read the screenplay (which I haven’t.). So what if he fucks her? That doesn’t mean he might not want her dead. It seems to me like she’s a crying bitch and that would be a good enough reason for Bill. As for why he wouldn’t kill her himself, wouldn’t it be more fun and “sadistic” if he tricked Elle? It’s the same damn reason why he didn’t just go into the hospital to pull the plug on the Bride himself.
The Bride chooses her victims because they tried to kill her. It isn’t magical, wonderous writing.
Sorry, JDK, don´t wanna bitch, but I don´t understand…
The question of the topic was:
But why would Bill send her in the first place? He already knew The Bride was lying in the hospital, being a total wreck.
And your answer is:
Maybe he wants Elle to die and knows the Bride can kick her ass.
He send Elle to a woman lying in a coma in the hospital, cuz he wants that the comatose bride kills her? How the fuck could Bill know that the bride will wake up?
He expects the Bride to wake up at some point probably, since she is tough. I don’t know, it was just a little theory I had at the time. I didn’t think too much into it.
