QT's next: SB Mandarin flick?

But that’s what I said! I am just sad that maybe I won’t like next Tarantino film, and they come out rarely.

Quentin wont treat this like all his other movies. I dont think he will advocate it much. He is making it for himself and Kung Fu lovers. He doesnt make movies because he has to. He makes them because he wants to.

yeah, i mean… he explored this asian filmmaking stuff in Kill Bill but he was limited there. in kill bill he couldnt go all for it, it was just part-asian. now he liked that so much, he’ll make another movie where he can make all the stuff he had to leave out of the pai mai sequences and stuff, dive a bit deeper into the china stuff. that sounds good to me as long as he starts fucking now !

i reckon its probably going to be a whole movie filmed like the pai mei scene, coz he seemed surprised at how well that section got recieved coz he said that would have been the first chapter to be cut down if he had released kb as one movie. its only a small movie so it makes sense that he’d go for something like this rather than a big budget thing like hero

That’s what I want - a movie made in the Pai Mei scene style. Stilish, with humour. That scene still beats the whole Hero movie!

Yeh with The Rza making the music for him!

I’d rather have a full length 90 minute House of Blue Leaves style movie

FUck yeah!~

Look, Anything he does will be fuckin awesome, ok! he’s goin thru an artistic period alright.

I hope he’ll live long enough to make more great movies. And go over that artistic period. Maybe that means his movie style will change.

Just read the latest interview in this month’s (November) “Total Film” magazine here in the UK, Mr. QT invited them out to his pad in the States as he won a few readers awards (“Man of the Year” being one of them) and he told them that he was now working on a new film, to be shot in China I believe, to be filmed completely in Mandarin. He said it won’t be LIKE a Shaw Brother’s film, IT WILL BE Shaw Brother’s film.

There’s a really big interview, and he said he will be filming hopefully in 4 months or something, and the script is doing really well. He told them a bit of a scene he was working on, it sounded cool. Something to do with a desert.

He said he will film it completely in Mandarin, and if people can’t stand the subtitles, he’ll record another soundtrack, in English, and it will be purposely out of sync, just like the old 70’s movies. He said that if he shoots it in Manderin, he can “cast all these great Chinese actors and actresses…” Let’s hope Uma fits in there somewhere, hehe…

It sounds pretty cool to me!

Let’s hope we have an official announcement soon!

Comments welcome!!

Fraser.

Why would Uma Thurman be in it when he is looking for Chinese actors to star in it?

For the people who haven´t seen the mag:

Fuck, where is the other part to the interview? I wanna see what the guy says next!

Quentin’s obsession with Uma is a bit over the top. I never once heard him rave about Daryl Hannah, a woman 10 years older then Uma who went through all the training etc and the martial arts as well.

Sonny chiba raved about Daryl though  he’s sounds like a great guy

"ok, i apologize for four rooms"

hahaha

sorry:

Cheers

Good luck to him - whatever he wants to do, let him do it!

He said in the interview that if he left the kung-fu genre behind, he knows he wouldn’t go back to it once he moves on to other things, so that’s why he’s going to do it now.

He’s proved that he can do his epic “Kill Bill” and now he can go back and do a small film.

Like I said, good luck to him!

And there’s nothing to say his favourite actors can’t have a cameo…

Fraser.

Tarantino influences people more then the average film maker because he appeals to a wider audiance.

Look at how mad people have got about the Japanese culture and martial arts since Kill Bill. If Quentin is re- opening doors for Kung Fu movies, that is only a good thing

Yep! I can agree with that one

Fraser.

Let me reiterate: THIS MOVIE IS GOING TO BE THE GREATEST THING SINCE JESUS. Seriously, how how how fucking cool was the House of Blue Leaves chapter in Kill Bill? Just imagine the coolness of that, but instead of 45 minutes, it’ll be twice that length and maybe even have better choreographed fight scenes (maybe). I just know this is going to be awesome. Mark my words

edit: Just read the article…so it’s going to be more like the Pai Mei scenes. Just as cool
