Popeye Pete's Death Proof script review

i’ll try to have a review of the script up by tonight. in the wiki of course

Just let us know when it’s ready…

Let me see it so I can post it all over the internet please.

As much as I want the script. I have chosen not to pester anyone for it. I’ll get that book and when the film comes out I’ll be there at midnight to enjoy it.

I loved the fucking first half of Tarantino’s script… I fell in love with the characters immediately and I was sas when they all died… didn’t like the second part that much…

anyways…

I am looking forward to the movie even more now… stuntman mike is a fucking badass

Same here, up to Earl McGraw it felt like a rush while reading it.

But I got hope for the second half too, the Ending of Kill Bill sounded pretty boring in the script too in cinema it was a blast.

@Seb: How about a Spoilerfree Thread or Forum for people who read the script? I’d love to chat about some details.

EDIT: @ Angel: Your Inbox is full, send me an PM with your Mailaddy pls.

Seb, do me a favor and please dont send this out to anyone until the movie is released. I sent it to you for one reason: The Kill Bill script you sent me. Thanks dude.

I don’t get the point. Is there any good reason not to send it a QT Fan?

To have it actually is not legal, it’s not the Script of Tarantriguez nor yours or mines. But some people think they have the right to send it to person x or y but person z shouldn’t get it. pls explain it to me.

Yeah well noone here would have it right now if Tarantriguez wasnt cool enough to send it to me. So, have some respect and keep it on the down low. Youre tellin me these people cant wait a couple months to see the film fresh? Of course they can. As soon as the film is released, send it to everyone if ya want.

In the words of Jimmy Conway “Do the right thing, dont do what Franky and Johnny did!”

So by sending the script to you Tarantriguez did a cool thing, but if you sent it to somebody else, you’d be doing the wrong thing. Pete wake up man. You know you’re talking bullshit. The post count on a forum does not qualify you as a bigger QT fan than anybody else, and that also applies to me.

Fuck Tarantriguez and her crappy forum.

Most of the elite people on here have the script in their possession by now anyway, and not thanks to her. Muhahaha!

You’re totally avoiding my question.

Maybe Tarantriguez got it first, but that doesn’t mean he’s the chosen one to judge some user’s from some communities. He only tried to avoid someone else to receive the script because he could push his forum and control the community. You can read it in every single post, he liked the situation of giving information or not, just to have the feeling of power.

If you give the script away before or after the release of the film isn’t important. Someone who doesn’t want to know the story won’t read it anyway so where’s the point?

So why the fuck should I respect Tarantriguez, or to say it in the words of Abraham Lincoln:

"Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man’s character, give him power."

Oh, HE is a SHE. Sry, bitch.

Muhahaha !

Dr. Evil: I demand the sum… OF 1 MILLION DOLLARS.

Number Two: [clears throat] Sir, strictly speaking, a million dollars will not go very far these days. Virtucon alone makes over 9 billion dollars a year.

Dr. Evil: Really? Okay then… we hold the world ransom for 1… hundred… BILLION dollars!

And even one hundred billion dollars is not enough to possess the DP script, muhahah ! ;D

I’m just saying that you dont HAVE TO read the script RIGHT NOW. In fact its better for you if you DONT. You’ll enjoy the movie more.

WTF? The script is out there now anyway. So if you are lucky enough to get it, just read it and shut yer damn pieholes!

I’ll be the judge of that, if I may. Thank you.

Great script though. The second half lags a bit, but overall its prime QT writing.

You know, I love screenplays. It’s not that I only read them to know the storyline, for me it’s just interesting to read a screenplay of a great screenwriter. There’s a great difference between writing screenplays and directing films. To learn about Screenwriting you have to read Screenplays. Sounds logically does it?

Now that I know the Script I can whatch Quentin work it out while seeing the movie.

After reading the Script I have the same opinion like you. The first half was a blast, all the stuff after the plotpoint with Earl McGraw wasn’t really genius. But I thought the same while reading the KB Script and Vol. 2 turned out to be a blast too.

I really never read scripts because theres no writers in Hollywood I like as much as QT. Actually Kill Bill and DP are the only scripts Ive read before the movies were out. <br/>

Its funny how we always judge movies as first halfs and second halfs. I think if we didnt see them that way, we could enjoy them more. We’re always looking for some big hook when theres no movie rulebook that says there has to be. Its just one big story and where it ends, it ends. Whats most important is how it flows. If it flows smooth from A to B to C thats all I care about. I think when QT shoots the movies he also improvs when it needs more fire, which is a great thing. So I’m sure he’s cutting it down to be one cool scene after another.

halfway through now, loving it so far, im sure its gonna be very visually oriented, though, so the film will still be fresh even after reading the script

POSSIBLE SPOILERS

I think the last action scene with Zoe Bell on the hood of the Dodger is gonna be ACE! I loved reading that. It’s gonna have the Dodger from Vanishing Point, now how fucking cool is that?! I loved all the characters’ interaction in the bar during the first part of the script too.

If you’re interested in Scripts go to: Movie scripts - PDF - Screenplays for You

The Scripts to Hitchcock Movies are pretty entertaining to read. But QT’s Scripts are over the top, not because of the storyline (I love his stories, but there are many other well done stories out there too) but because of his writing style. It’s just fun to read it.

Hmm, I’d love to go into detail with the DP Script, should we open a Big Fat Spoiler Thread?
