Number 5

I haven’t read through every thread here but can someone tell me if there is any significance in the number 5.

Pulp Fiction

*********

5 dollar shake

fox force 5

5 earrings in each ear

butch throws the fight in the 5th round

5 sausages with breakfast

potentially 5 guys in the apartment

vincent’s car is out 5 days before it gets keyed

over 5 years in hanoi pit of hell

Kill Bill

****

5 members of the DIVAS

5 point palm exploding heart techniqhue

Any help would be huge.

Thanks

I’m sure there are a whole bunch of other references. I haven’t examined, NBK, True Romance, etc. enough to find all of them. I did an term paper on Pulp and that’s one of the things that has long puzzled me and no one and I mean no one has been able to shed any light on this. Anyhow, if anyone has any kind of a clue. Please let me know.

    Thanks. ???

This reminds me of Leone’s obsession with the number 3!

I think that that number doesn’t mean shit.

Why would it mean something?

I found a new one! They all have 5 fingers on each hand ::slight_smile:

'Cause 5 is a cool motherfucking number.

He had an obsession with the number 3.

There are also 5 chapters of the script:

1.PROLOGUE

2.VINCENT VEGA & MARSELLUS WALLACE’S WIFE

3.THE GOLD WATCH

4.JULES, VINCENT, JIMMIE AND THE WOLF

5.EPILOGUE

interesting, cuda jus bin a random number thought up off the top of his head, or it cud be the age of his pet gerbil or sum shit like that.

U WILL NEVA NO! :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, let’s just think logically. Tarantino is cool, he puts a lot of things in his movies that mean something. A LOT. It’s cool to find them. I actually love it really much, I even dream about them at sleep. But really - Why Should Tarantino Mean Something With A Number 5 ?? That’s just an ordinary thing in the movie. I think that Tarantino thinks about it as a normal number, because when he has to think of some small number he picks 5. Like 5th round or something. Now a home assignment for you mr10 : try to do the same research on the usage of number 7 in his movies. And - why mr10, not mr12?

As much as I’d like to be able to call myself mr12 for obvious reasons, mr10 actually has something to do with my real name.

As for number 7, feel free to point me in the right direction and I’ll get started. ::slight_smile:

in FDTD there are 5 of them (the Geko brothers + the family of 3.)

Seems theres a lot to do with number 5, but you could probably find just the same number of things about any other number.
