Nifty Little Shit You Noticed

i like the Mr. Majestic poster in Budd’s trailer

According to a review from filmthreat: "Not only did “Vol. 1’s bodyguard Go Go resemble a similar schoolgirl-assassin from Miike’s “Fudoh – The Next Generation, but a scene from the second “Bill outing, filmed from inside a toilet bowl, has much in common with a potty shot from “City of Lost Souls.

That sounds awesome. CoLS is one of the coolest movies i’ve seen in a while.

Actually, The Bride’s heart rate isn’t a dirty joke. It’s a reference to The Green Hornet (Wang’s heart-rate).

But you’ll just probably giggle at the name Wang. ::slight_smile:

I woulda thought you guys would have figured this out by now but the water thing building up tension in the Bride vs. O-Ren fight is from Once Upon A Time In The West. It’s during the beginning when you hear the sound of a one of those spinny wind things repeated over and over, eventually leading up to Harmonica kicking those three guys’ ass.

Very similar!

Now, I know QT references plenty of stuff from other movies, but a lot of the stuff is going on a limb.

Just because he uses a japanese school girl in his film, it’s automatically a reference to another movie with japanese schoolgirls? I’m pretty sure Miike didnt invent the whole concept of Japanese girls going to school.

I think the whole “I’m-an-ass-kicker-and-still-17” look came from “Battle Royale”. A very well shot movie in which students were forced to kill each other to survive. Even Chiaki Kuriyama (spelling?) was in there and undoubtedly she showed in the movie that she could become a great GoGo!

Something just struck me while watching the new KILL BILL DVD. The Bride uses a big fat red and a big fat black magic marker to write down her Death List.

Didn’t Vincent Vega ask for a big fat black magic marker in Pulp Fiction, and then get a big fat red one to mark Mia Wallace’s chest cavity?

Also, it is a known fact that Quentin uses a black magic marker for dialogue and a red magic marker for action sequences when writing his screenplays. No word processing for him!

I don’t think anyone’s mentioned this yet.

As Earl McGraw is pulling into the Two Pines Wedding Chapel, son #1 Edgar seems to turn off “That Certain Female” with a wave of his hand. Pretty cool.

Check it out!

I think I MIGHT have found Quentin laying on the floor of The House Of Blue Leaves. In the shot when the woman is slipping on the blood, there’s a body laying down in the bottom right corner, with his head facing almost diagnol with the corner. He appears taller than the other Crazy 88s and has a promenant chin. Even with a zoom feature it’s almost impossible to make their faces. But that could be QT.

Personally, I think it is.

Everybody should look for the ‘nifty shit’ in my screen caps archive and post the image links for them. That’d be cool.

i like how in this shot <LINK_TEXT text=“http://www.mondore.com/g1tf/kbarchive/i … _1-574.jpg”>http://www.mondore.com/g1tf/kbarchive/images/KILL_BILL_VOLUME_1-574.jpg</LINK_TEXT>

only The Bride’s eyes and ear ring is in color

Just some stuff I’m going to be sending into MovieMistakes soon.

Whenever O-Ren’s mother is killed, we see the bottom of the bed with the sword protruding from it.  After a few seconds, the blood starts to bleed through the fabric but appears in random places.  This should not happen with one swift cut.

## In the anime scene, whenever the sword that kills O-Ren's mother goes through the bed and hits the floor, the young O-Ren moves her eyes to her right to see the blade.  In the next shot, which is above her, her eyes are now back in the front of her head.

## During the "The Man from Okinawa" chapter, The Bride picks up a sword from one of the racks on the wall.  She slides the sword out from its scabbard approx. 4 inches and stops.  The next shot shows the reflection of her eyes in the blade.  In the third shot, we see a wider view of The Bride again but now the scabbard is much farther out than where it used to be.

## Whenever The Bride is laying in Buck's truck, watch her feet closely.  During a whole body shot, her feet move, yet on a lone shot of her feet, they're still.

## Whenever The Bride is laying in Buck's truck, watch her feet closely.  During a whole body shot, her feet aren't against the door, yet on a lone shot of her feet, they are laid back on the door.

## After cutting off Boss Tanaka's head, O-Ren whips some the blood on her sword onto another boss's face. He jerks his head back with specks of blood on his face, but just a split second later in a different shot his head is still and there is no blood at all.
