Nifty Little Shit You Noticed

I’ll just post these from the other thread

The camera angle, duration and movement on Bill’s feet as he walks towards The Bride at the beginning and Earl’s feet as he approaches The Bride in chapter 2 are pretty much the same.

Somebody already mentioned that

The heart monitor sounds when Uma wakes up, discovers that her baby is gone, and when she hears Buck whistling. She drops down and the heart rate immediately goes back to normal when he enters the room.

I’m not sure about this one, but the charms and trinkets hanging from the rearview mirror in the Pussy Wagon at the start of chapter 1 seem to be the same ones that you see on O-Ren’s (Gogo’s?) tiny red sword.

Unfortunately, the beads hanging from the mirror aren’t the ones on O-Ren’s sword.

I did have another detail, I thought it was just a shot similarity but they were used in the same context:

When the bride pulls up to Vernita’s house, the shot is set up so the camera is facing a house, but the Bride pulls up really quickly in a closeup and slams on the brakes so the car window is completely in frame. In PF, Butch pulls up in the same way (except the frame is his driver’s side, the bride’s passenger side) right before he kills Vincent.

I love the “breakdance” of the bride while she’s slicing off the feet of those Crazy 88 fighters. And that in beautiful and classic lookin black & white. Simply genious! And what I like very much, too, is when the Bride erases the writing of Hattori Hanzo on the glass “Bill”. She erases that with her jacket sleave and then there’s a bit of the “B” and she erases that, too, with her finger. Brilliant scene. We see how much the Bride hates Bill for that what he has done.

i presume everyone realised that the sherriff is the same sherriff in from dusk til dawn. i think its earl mcgraw.

and did you notice the picture engraved into bill’s sword? its a picture of darth maul from star wars ep 1.

I think that’s the second time you’ve said that. It’s also, coincidentally, the second time you’ve been wrong. The engraving is a basic devil’s head.

Episode 1 sucked.

I dont know what to make of this. Some one on the aint it cool news talkbackers said something about having the burly brawl sound in the background of THOBL scene. Were the bride fights the crazy 88. So I tryed it and it makes it go way faster and intense. Kinda weird when the music would slow down and pick up again. anyone else heard of this or has tryed it?

There is a part in the anime sequence that kicks total ass. Its when Oren-Ishii is getting here revenge on the Tokyo boss guy. As she slowly slides the sword into his stomach he bites down on his teeth so hard that they EXPLODE out of his mouth. I thought that part was fucking crazy. I loved it ;D

no, sorry, its darth maul (who’s design is based on that of a devil anyway)

also episode 1 rocked, fatty

I almost knew when Uma and Ms.Fox where in the kitchen after her little girl gets home from school that she was going to shoot at Uma 'cause the box of cereal was called Kaboom! ;D

I finally figured out what the hell is underneath HOBL’s clear dance floor. Upon my 13th viewing, I finally realized that the bride exacts the bulk of her revenge over a huge zen garden, which is an ancient stress-relieving concept that is supposed to clear the mind and allow for greater concentration and meditation. Nice!

Also, I finally picked out O-Ren’s figure in the first shot we see of the snowy garden. It kind of bothered me that she popped up out of nowhere (kinda like in a Leone), but now I can see her figure blending in perfectly with the scenery and looming ominously over it. Great image.

Yeh, Michael Parks.

…by the way the guy who plays “Son number one” (Edgar McGrew) is James Parks. Is there any relation to Michael Parks there?

And do the names Earl McGraw and Edgar McGrew come from anywhere. I know the name Earl McGraw was used for Michael Parks’ character in FDTD, but are they spin offs of characters used in another movie? (i would think it’d be some spaghetti western flick but i haven’t seen too many of them)

Thats his real son.

Have you noticed that one of the producers of FDTD name is L.Driver?

A “69” is when two people give eachother oral sex at the same time, meaning both of them are laying beside/ontop of eachother, but in opposite directions. And if you look at the number “69”, you can see that both numbers also seem to be in opposite directions, hence the name.

Which kinda relates to how the bride is being pimped out.
