in Vol. 2, for the massacre at the wedding rehearsal, the name of the street the chapel is at is Aguascalientes Rd. That’s “hot water.” So, for the Bride, she was figuratively and literally in hot water.

Agua Caliente does mean hot water but this was most probably a reference to Sergio Leone.
Agua Caliente is the name of a little village. The final parts of For A Few Dollars more happen in Agua Caliente.
(El Paso (featured in Kill Bill) also features prominently in For A Few Dollars More)

You never see B.B. mention “Shogun Assassin,” nor do you see Bill say it as well. I’m guessing perhaps it was another movie they mentioned (Snow White, maybe? ???), and they put the words in post production?
Just a few things in the order I remember them…
Budd with his arms covered in tattoos, living out in the desert, drinking Margaritas made in the blender and playing guitar, reminds me of the Jimmy Buffett song “Margaritaville”. The lyrics very much seem to fit with Budd’s attitude towards life and Bill and Bea “Some people claim that there’s a woman to blame…”. The brand of bread that Bill is using to make BB a sandwich is “Bimbo”. I.e. a derogatory term for a blonde. Reminded me how Budd said “…she was only smart for a blonde…” earlier in v.2

Hattori Hanzo compliments her on her Japanese “…you say arigato, like we say arigato…” in contrast to Pai Mei who tells her “your mandarin is terrible, you bray like an ass!” after having only said one word. And the general contrast between how Hanzo treats her with almost reverence and is so polite, while Pai Mei treats her like a dog and is insulting to her in virtually everything he says. Also everyone else probably noticed this too, but the first and last word in Japanese that Bea says in the “Man from Okinawa” scene is “Domo” (thanks).
Is the sword from PF in Hattori Hanzo’s sword rack? I think I see it there, third from the ground, second rack from the right - dark green with thin gold sageo. - maybe someone with a better version/inside knowledge can confirm if it is or not, I can’t see it very well but it looks like it.
Also what is Bill drinking in the “Face to Face” scene? It looks like whisky from the color and the way he is drinking it (shots), does anyone know what brand?

Thanks. I don’t know what anime this seppuku avatar came from, but I’d like to find out as well - it would probably be the rare sort of anime that I would find watchable. One or two people on the ogrish.com forums use it, and I think it’s about the coolest avatar I’ve seen (and there’s some really quite cool ones on ogrish).
I would be surprised if the “Margaritaville” song wasn’t at least some of the inspiration behind what Budd is drinking in the scene with Elle. That they are drinking it out of jars makes it perfect.
Another nifty similarity between volumes is the way Hattori Hanzo throws his knife at the magnetic rack without looking in v1, is a lot like the way Pai Mei throws the sword back into the sword rack without looking in v2.

I just put in Volume 1 for a few minutes to test out my speakers and I love how in the hospital at the beginning it goes:
Bill: …And the reason we won’t do that thing is because… that thing would lower us. Don’t you agree, Miss Driver?
Elle: I guess
Bill: Do you really have to guess?
Elle Driver: No. I don’t really have to guess. I know.
And then later on when Bill is talking to Sophie, again in a hospital, the following dialogue occurs:
Bill: If you had to guess why she left you alive, what would be your guess?
Sophie: Guessing won’t be necessary, she informed me.
Haha, I love how this time, it’s Sophie telling Bill that she doesn’t really have to guess.
Of course, the word guess and it’s associated words are used quite a bit in both films and even more in the script. I guess he likes using it. ;D
