Tarantino and Roth visited BLUE LAGOON - Geothermal Spa

Quentin Tarantino and Eli Roth visited BLUE LAGOON – Geothermal Spa during their stay in Iceland but they were here for the premier show of Roth’s new film, Hostel.

Tarantino and Roth visited the geothermal spa along with the cast and producers of the film. The guests enjoyed relaxing in the lagoon and got an in-water massage. Blue Lagoon then invited the group for dinner. They enjoyed their stay and Roth said that he always gave himself a time to bathe in the lagoon when he visits Iceland.
Film-maker QUENTIN TARANTINO is vowing to spend every New Year’s Eve in Iceland after enjoying a boozy night with a bar full of “supermodels”.

The KILL BILL director is a longtime fan of Iceland and when friends invited him to see in 2006 there, he jumped at the chance.

He says, "I almost can’t imagine New Year’s anywhere else after that because Icelanders, they go and they drink like crazy any old way, but, on New Year’s they lose their minds - in particular the women lose their minds and like drink like crazy.

"We were in this club full of all these drunken girls and this one girl is like, 'Oh man, I’m so embarrassed about Icelandic women - they always go out and they always drink way too much and make complete fools out of themselves.

"The moment after she said that a drunken girl walks by and does a face plant, ‘Bam!’ right in front of us.

"I’m in a room full of supermodels who were drunk out of their mind standing on a table, (going) ‘Let’s get the party started.’ I’m like, ‘Where have I been all my life.’

“In America, the idea is to get the girls drunk enough to go home with you, in Iceland it’s to get the girls home with you before they get so drunk that they’re passing out in your bathroom or vomiting all over you.”
TARANTINO: ‘I’VE TASTED ICELANDIC POISON’

Movie-maker QUENTIN TARANTINO is convinced he has tasted poison after sampling Iceland’s favourite alcohol over New Year. The KILL BILL director joined pal BJORK and friends in Iceland to ring in 2006 and now he can’t get the taste of awful, intoxicating licorice out of his mouth.

He says, “I don’t really know what poison tastes like, because if I did I’d be dead, but, if I had to imagine what poison would taste like, it would be this stuff Opal. It’s based on this candy that the Icelanders have eaten since they were a little kid, so they’re used to the taste, so they love it. I was in this club and Bjork was there and she grabs me up to the bar and (the bartender) sets up like three shots… My gag reflex was doing a decathlon at that point. This stuff is so foul that I said what I never thought I’d ever say in my life - when it came down to the fourth shot I go, ‘Can I switch to Jagermeister (hardcore herb liquor), just for the taste?’”
