Most overrated movies
He can like or dislike whatever he wants. What…does he disapoint you by not liking the movie? Were you expecting more? Does his opinion hurt yours?

Never get pissed at someone over an opinionated answer to an opinionated question. asshole.
I was just trying to keep with the theme of the thread

Who cares really, I think it’s overated you think likewise.

otherwise, asshole

I meant that ina friendly tone, asshole.

The LOTR movies, they’re actually longer than the books! The battle scenes are repetitive, and Orlando Bloom is such a fuckin’ fag. I don’t give a damn about a couple of midgets on a quest to destroy jewelry. Oh, wait, evil jewelry! The best thing these movies had going for them was the music and some of the cinematography.

Lawrence of Arabia, just 4 hours of sand sand sand and some more sand. Who cares? The first thing anyone mentions about this movie is the “beautiful” cinematography, it’s just a bunch of long (and I mean LONG) shots of sand. The movie is so absolutely dull. The story is very slow paced

Star Wars: A New Hope. This movie is terribly boring and retarded, it only gets interesting when Obi Wan & co. go to the death star. Empire Strikes Back is fuckin’ great though.

Enter The Dragon, yes it features Bruce Lee and yes he does a few series of awesome moves. And that’s where it ends, the fight scenes are poorly filmed and Bruce just coasts through the competition, just taking out a bunch of terribly uncooridinated flunkies. They can’t even fall down believably. And don’t tell me the fight scenes are boring because of the effeciency of Jeet Kune Do, (all of Bruce’s other movies had the Jeet Kune Do principles, and those are fantastic fight scenes, particularly the Game of Death ones) they’re just really dull. I guess the movie’s major problem was the direction of Robert Clouse, the man responsible for Gymkata. The villian was no match for Bruce at all, I was bored to tears during the mirror fight. It wasn’t suspenseful. I can’t take John Saxon as a serious baddass either, there’s no way in hell he would stand up against Bolo Yueng.

haha i totally agree with you, i couldnt care less about LOTR, never got into it or into the people that are into it

I agree with you on these choices, but differ just a little bit. I think the first hour of Lawrence is pretty great stuff, but the movie has a dull final act. NOTHING happens! And for me, A New Hope takes off when Luke/Obi & the droids go to Mos Eisley and ends when the gang escapes the Death Star. I usually change the channel or turn the movie off afterwards.

I also agree with you on LOTR except for “Fellowship”. That one just really captures all the adventure and emotion that those other 2 sorry pieces of shit failed to do.

But the Bruce Lee/Bob Wall fight where he takes him out in 2 seconds using Wing Chun is just pure awesomeness…you can’t deny that.

I agree that FOTR wipes the other 2 off the map. Parts of that movie actually gave me chills down my spine, but after numerous viewings of the last 2 i’ve come to like them also, just not as much as Fellowship. Because they have waaay too much talking and 9 guys fighting a group of orcs is always 10 times cooler than a giant battle.

Yeah, as I said, Bruce does some awesome moves, mainly that and the nunchuk scene.

Silence of the Lambs. I don’t see why this film is so great.

LOTR

Scarface. fuck that cheesy piece of shit

only good thing about it was PUSH IT TO THE LIMIIIIIIIIIIIIIT

I fully agree. just because it was so “shockingly new” to have cannibal as the centerpiece of a movie doesnt make it a good one.

I think there are many overrated movies. I use to have a ‘Guess who’s gonna to recive the oscar’ meeting with my friends every year and I have to say that I’m hardly ever happy with the Accademy’s choiches.I agree with people who say that Pearl harbour is not a good film, but I did liked the latest 007 film. One of the film i think of when I’m talking about overrated movies is American Beauty: of course,Kevin Spacey’s performance was very good, but I think the film was crap!..

i could not agree more, i cannot stand Scarface
:D

I loved Scarface. I watched it not knowing if it would be good and it was fuckin’ brilliant. I also think Carlito’s Way is waaaaaaaaayyyy shitter than Scarface. Carlito’s Way was so borring, and… that accent…that fuckin accent… how many times have I said I hate that fuckin’ accent how many?

you’re complaining about his accent in Carlito’s Way?? did you not hear that shitty cuban accent in Scarface??

:o
