Ugh, don’t tell me you think he’s gonna get best screenplay. Don’t get me wrong, I really liked Kill Bill, but thats not the kind of movie that’ll win the screenplay Oscar. The story is sufficient for B-movie revenge flick, but the only reason it looked half as good as it did was due to direction and the actors involved.
I’m shooting for Best Cinematography…if it gets nominated for anything, it’ll be that.
How can u say rocky is overrated? that movie is amazing exspecialy the third one with thunder lips (Hulk Hogan) and CLubber Lang (Mr. T)

I am willing to bet money that it will be nominated for Best Screenplay. When I first read the script, I was drawn in and read it form beginning to end, without stopping to even take a piss. The script is in classic Tarantino form with everything switched up to his satisfaction, and it is so detailed, that you can picture almost every shot, even thought the storyline is B-Movie, the script is not, and thought it does not have as good a dialogue as Pulp, it is still intelligent, and a damn good piece of writing from The Man.
Im wondering if Kill Bill could even be nominated for that. If it can be, i would assume that if it were to be nominated at all, it would be at next years. Cinemotography i think it will almost certainly get a nod. I think Uma has a shot (although, lets be honest : slim) due to the lack of really stellar female performances this year. Most of the other categories already have winners… we are just waiting for thier names to be read.
I have no doubt Peter Jackson will win for Rotk. THat oscar (although, dont get me wrong, its deserved for his work) is going to be kinda like a gift. I dont think anyone else has even a shot in hell of winning this one.
Tom Cruise will probably get best actor for the Last Samurai. YEah i know what you’re thinking “How can he say that when the movie hasnt even been released yet?”. Well im pretty sure he will get a Peter Jackson type gift as well. Kinda like how Russell Crowe got a oscar for Gladiator. Sure he was good in that, but he was way better in some of his earlier stuff.

Back on topic. I think a really overrated movie is Gone with the Wind. To me, Gone with the Wind is simply a big special effects movie made back when those movies werent made. The acting to me is kinda bland.

What the fuck. There are movies that I would never have thought would make this list, one of them is Gone With The Wind. Are you crazy? This film is far from overrated. It was the first movie of its time to have lavish sets,it had great locations, a great story, great actors, and it was the first movie to have a curse word. This movie will always be a classic masterpiece. I cannot believe you think this movie is overrated. You are just going to far now.
You are essentially just describing it in terms of why i hate it. Sure it has lavish sets big stuff and what not…but the story sucks ass. I mean T2 had all that junk too, but no one is singing its praises.
