I was under the distinct impression that this topic was here because some folks kill bill actually had a chance to win an Academy award. Its good to know that even Bullet knows it wont win one. I will drink a glass of wine to celebrate the day

Best Director (Anyone who has seen Kill Bill cant deny the direction is superbly done. QTs best directing work to date.)
Best Original Screenplay (Even without the poetic Tarantino monolgues this script was brilliant. QT can write like a dream.)
Best Actress in a Leading Role: Uma Thurman (Uma is magnificent and totally believable as a master assassin, she rocked my world. Emotion, movement, beauty, she had it all.)
Best Picture (Vol 1 is to me is everything wonderful about cinema as an artform. If there more movies were made with the deep love that QT puts into his cinema, the cinema world would be a better place.)
Best Cinematography (Eyepopping ultra colorful visuals and beautiful lighting in each of the chapters by RR the Master)
Best Music Score (Totally awesome, as Sergio Leone said “Music is 40% of a Film” QT knows that and he is a genius at picking the right music to lay over his artwork.)
Best Editing (Sally Menke is an excellent editor and her and QT make a great team. Reminds me of Thelma Schoonmaker and Martin Scorsese).

Are you Tarantino’s personal accountant, vic? fuck. Kill Bill has no chance…NO CHANCE…at winning BEST PICTURE or BEST DIRECTOR. Pulp couldn’t even get those. And Pulp Fiction is critically acclaimed and considered one of the greatest films of all time. Best screenplay? Just because Tarantino can write some cool action scenes doesn’t mean its a great screenplay. Like others have said, like Bullet, Tarantino is just remaking scenes from other movies and stealing from them. Nothing ORIGINAL there.

Kill bill is so "stylish" and the music was fucking orgasmic along with that great sword fighting woohaa shit and blood spilling all over the place. Uma Thurman was great this was perharps the greatest movie ever made and will sweep the oscars. THe dialogue too was just Tarantinoesque. Perfect. Screen play was a work of fucking genius.

Yeah ok, but what I meant was that the oscars aren’t the only type of award present on the face of the Earth, so I think we don’t really have to over-emphasize their importance. We already know that those old bastards at the Academy won’t reward a brilliant film unless it’s: 1.) a film about the Holocoust 2.) a gay musical 3.) an annoying and sickenly sweet love story 4.) a film about a retard.
I dont watch movies because I want them to win awards. I watch them because I love movies. Period.
This Award bullshit is like talking about the box office takes, its all superficial nonsense that has nothing to do with the movie itself.
The way I look at it is, if KB Vol 1 wins any awards, thats just gravy, but its not going to change my opinions about the movie at all. Its not like I can like Vol 1 any more than I already do.
We all know why we watch QT films. Its because hes one of us and he gets to make fun, exciting films for us to enjoy and talk about. Thats all that matters in the end.
