Kill Bill Vol1 awards and nominations

I’ve decided to start a new topic regarding all the awards and nominations (or lack of) Kill Bill has achieved or has the potential to achieve so that all award-related topics could be posted in here. So far, Vol. 1 has achieved the following nominations:

Nominated: - European Film Awards for Quentin Tarantino

- Golden Globes, for Best Perfomance in Drama

(Uma Thurman).

- Grammy for best compilation soundtrack.

Additionally, I also found this on IMDB today:

Online Film Critics Give 11 Nods to 'King’

Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King has garnered 11 nominations from the Online Film Critics Society for their 2003 awards. Close behind was Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill with 10.

Sadly, there wasn’t any mentioning of what were the specific 10 nominations. If anyone has any further news, it would be great if you could post it.

Thanks a lot!

how did Kill Bill get a best original score nomination? What was so great about it? It was just noise!

ok i posted a topic about this and then livin/dead nigga storage told me to post it here so The Online Film Critics Society has announced its 2003 award nominees, and Kill Bill is extremely well represented. The entire list of categories that Kill Bill has been nominated in are:

Best Picture

Best Director (Q. Tarantino)

Best Actress (U. Thurman)

Best Original Screenplay

Best Cinematography

Best Original Score (RZA)

Best Visual Effects

Best Art Direction

Best Costume Design

Best Sound

The only nominations I don’t agree with are Score (because…well, it’s barely there, and it’s not terribly exciting)and Costume Design (because…well, Cold Mountain). Otherwise, it deserves the nominations. I don’t think it deserves to win Best Picture, but it should be on the list.

i only agree with Best Actress and Best cinematography

Visual Effects doesn’t make much sense, either.

Best Film Audience Award > Kill Bill Vol.1 (and Zatoichi!)

The real question is, do you think Kill Bill and the gang will WIN any of them?

Kill Bill isnt nominated for visual effects. Is that list legit CPS or is that jusa list that YOU wanna see nominated.

if any of the first 3 movies get best picture, ill be happy

I get every week some movie letters from some online movie sites and also from some theatres. They inform about the movies will shown in Germany and tehy also give information about the film backgraound and all this kind of stuff.
So I get this list from moviesmaze. It´s not the best site in the world, but normally the information are right.

btw, they also have this February pic (where Mo is in it) for KB 2. I send them a mail where they get it from, normally they answer me very quickly and good. But its the first Jan. So I have to wait for an answer..
I send them now an email about your question, will post it then.

I felt a little bit unsure after your post, I don´t wanna post some shit here. Open the link: http://www.moviemaze.de/news/1830.html

you will find the german word HIER. Then you are on the right site under visual ef. you find KB.

But I send an email to the one of the reporter to make it sure.

Hey Sidewinder, the site mailed me that it are the official nominatens.

In terms of the Academy Awards, what categories do you think Vol. 1 should be nominated in? (Here is a list of all the possible nominations, if you need it.)

I think Vol. 1 should get noms for:

Actress in a Leading Role (Uma Thurman)

Cinematography (Robert Richardson)

Directing (Quentin Tarantino)

Film Editing (Sally Menke)

Writing - Original Screenplay (Quentin Tarantino)

Best Picture is a bit…iffy. I love Kill Bill to death, but I think there are probably more worthy pictures to fill the five slots.

For all who wants to see the bad results (exept for LOTR 3) check the following link:

Not even a word about Kill Bill or Tarantino. That sucks.

Well, it’s the best movie of the year for me, that’s what counts. ;D. It’s no surprise that costume design, visual effects and all that shit goes to ROTK, and that’s what’s gonna happen at the oscars too. They should have at least given best actress to Uma though. Fuckin’ Naomi Watts >:(.
