Kids Movie

Does anyone think QT will do like robert did and make a kids film?

fuck no

fuck yes

He’s mentioned several times that he’d like to do one some day. I don’t remember exactly what he said but I specifically remember him mentioning once that he always thought it was cool when kids came into the video store and rented the same movie constantly. He liked that fact that the kids knew what they liked.

he should definalety make a kids movie someday. Like any true movie geek, Quentin has a soft spot for stuff like The Goonies, BMX Bandits, etc.

It would also be fun to watch all his immature male teenage fans (there’s a lot of them) go apeshit crazy when they see a Quentin movie without swearing and violence in it.

No!!! No kids movies, what are you talking about? It can’t happen!

A lot of kids were harmed during the filming of this movie. ;D

I’d like to harmed during the making of a Q-Man movie. Aslong as it shows up on screen.

I wanna see kids snorting coke and raping comatose women. That would kick ass.

Yeah and steal old lady’s handbags. Then beating old helpless cripples to death.

There should be a scene where one of the kids tells a whore to “suck his gun” and she starts sucking the kids revolver, then he metaphorically cums by blowing her head off and then ( this is Angels contribution ) throws up on the headless body…

If he did make a kids movie, would you watch it? I’m a true movie geek and i have a soft spot for movies like that.

For sure! There were a lot of great kid’s movies that came out in the '70s which would probably inspire QT.

Actually, I just picked one up called “Kenny & Co.” by Don Coscarelli the year before he made “Phantasm” with some of the same actors. Roger Avary called it one of the best kids movies ever made, so I’m sure QT has seen it.

Actually I wrote about this topic about a year ago in this thread:

As for QT’s kids movie… I keep on thinking it will be a throwback to the ‘70s. There were a lot of great kids movies made back then.

… with spunky, cussing, ne’er-do-well kids that always got in and out of trouble but still seemed real and believable… not like the 80s and 90s films like Home Alone which seemed so manufactured.

Something like with Tatum O’ Neal from Bad News Bears (QT had a crush on her back then, and his first screenplay centered on a girl called Somerset O’ Neal who was based on her ).

Also another '70s kids movie that he might be inspired by is Kenny & Company made by Don Coscarelli in 1976 before he made the horror classic Phantasm. I remember Roger Avary saying it was one of his favorite films and one of the best kids movies ever made.

Kenny & Company (1976) - IMDb

check out the comments! Pretty amazing and some interesting viewpoints.

I’m sure QT has seen it too and would recommend this almost forgotten gem.

I didn’t see it listed on Amazon… but I know you can get it pretty cheap $6.97 at Deep Discount DVD… <LINK_TEXT text=“http://www.deepdiscount.com/viewproduct … Id=5736116”>http://www.deepdiscount.com/viewproduct.htm?productId=5736116</LINK_TEXT>

My mistake… it is listed on Amazon… just a little hard to find…

This is the type of kid’s movie I hope QT makes if he does.

What movies hold that special place for you? Give us some titles and reasons!

Well I really like the old Hanna barbera cartoons, our gang, you know the old stuff. I still like to watch the cartoons on boomerang and stuff like that. Oh, by the way, i came up with a name for a QT Kids Movie…Reservoir Pups!

Yeah, I remember watching Our Gang and the Little Rascals. those were good fun.

just watched that movie I was talking about, “Kenny & Co.”, last night. It was pretty good and captured the freewheeling days of the youthful '70s quite well.

Here’s a good review of it…

<LINK_TEXT text=“http://www.badmovieplanet.com/unknownmo … ev295.html”>http://www.badmovieplanet.com/unknownmovies/reviews/rev295.html</LINK_TEXT>

just like the review says, it has no real plot to speak of, just the progression of days leading up to Halloween, so it does have a direction, a momentum to keep you interested. It is basically a “hang-out movie” as Quentin likes to call them as we get to know the characters over several days and their interactions with each other.

… also an interesting thing to note (if QT really did watch this movie) is a possible link to “Kill Bill”. There is a character in this movie, a crazy old lady called Mrs. Walker, who lives alone in a big old spooky house and supposedly lies in wait for intruders with a shotgun loaded with rock salt! I wonder if Budd knew this crazy old lady…!

Check it out if you get a chance. as I said in my post above, you can get it real cheap online.

You guys have a weird idea of kids-movies.

I could see QT doing an Home Alone or Three Ninjas type of movie.

I can see him doing The goonies meets A Clockwork Orange…
