Comments on this movie? Most people seem to either love or hate it. I thought it was very good, but also very, very hard to watch. I’m happy I saw it, but I’m not sure if I want to see it again anytime soon. But I do think we need more movies like this. Movies that remind us that violence is not â€?funâ€? in real life…
8/10, can’t say it’s “hard” to watch, i have yet to encounter a film thats hard to watch, i immediatly bought the dvd after watching the trailer, i just has that atmosphere, that realistic fear, this is probably the ultimate “im scared to death yet im safe” film, an experience, it’s really absorbing, it takes you to Hell rather than a ‘scary’ place, bottom of the barrel, love it, it gives the audience a taste for revenge rather than only the characters
i dont think it is hard to watch. Definitely a great film. I like to get moved emotionally by films, but at the end of the day, i look at it as a film, as a piece of art. That is probably why i dont really see it as hard to watch and, with the exception of really crap films, i dont really find many films hard to watch. But, for those that havent seen this film, really worth seeing, just know that it is quite explicit.

Caught something on my 2nd viewing which made the movie much more bleak.
I liked it. Monica Bellucci gave a great performance, and I don’t mean that sarcastically or in some sick sexual way, either. You sick bastards. 
i thought i was going to puke in the beginning of the film. The way they had filmed it, and what i saw, was just overwhelming. The thing i had the most problem with was the rape-scene. I actually started to cry, which i almost never do during a film.
That reminds me of that discussion about eating cereal during the rape scene in Man Bites Dog.
I wonder what cereal would taste like while watching Irreversible. I’ll put that on my to do list…

Wasnt there some bitching about this film being being homophobic? like i give a dam i just looked up from my bowel of frostys once and that was during the rape scene… man that just kept going
I don´t know what you guys think,but as a girl i think that scene was some of the most awful thing i ever saw. It´s so realistic, i almost felt like i was getting raped.
I am sorry Luxie, but i literally have almost no shame…when it comes to films, that is!
I like to get emotionally moved when i watch a film, but i have never found anything to be “awful”
Well, i can watch almost anything and be able to separate fiction from reality, but that was har to look at. Maybe it´s harder for me to look at that scene because i am a girl? And because i can imagine what it would feel like? I guess it´s different for everyone. But you don´t have to be ashamed, you can´t help what you feel, and neither can i.
uhh id best not answer that question truthfully - suffice to say im a pritty sick person… i wish i could sympathies Luxie but it seems im incapable of it…
I am just really desensitised to things such as films and games.
Well, you´re sensitive enough to atleast understand that some people might feel bad watching thats scene, haha;) Actually that scene, and the assault scene in “Boys don´t cry” are the only ones i weep to. But this one is much more diturbing, makes me feel sick.

“Boys don´t cry”… hmmm now i remember that film - but i cant recall a rape scene… ??? ahh im sure itll all come back to me 
Boys don’t cry is a great film, not something i liked so much to watch again. But pretty good nonetheless.
When you say assault scene, i assume you mean the scene where they rip off her clothes and expose that she is a woman?
