Inglourious Basterds info-center (pre-production)

Yeesh! You guys act like Grind was the first long movie in a long time when its far from it. Lord of the Rings, 300, JFK, Malcom X, Heat, Casino, Magnolia, The Right Stuff, Braveheart, Titanic and I could go on and on, all over 3 hours. Lately it seems every few months a really long movie is released. 4 hours would be really long but I see no reason why it would be out of the question.

Out of recent long movies you should add The Departed. 300 wasn’t that long

300 is under two hours, which I’d call a normal movie, not a long movie. A long movie has atleast gotta be in the 2 and half hour range.

oh, I thought 300 was over 2 hours

I doubt QT will use one composer. He’ll probably use a mix of movie music (from Spaghetti Westerns etc) pop music and new music by Rodriguez again.

QT should be open for new things.A mix of Spaghetti/War -Movie songs is very possible. But what Pop music ?i dont have any song in my mind that would fit to a WW 2 flic, i mean its an WW2 flic not a thriller or gangsta movie…

Who said only gangster flix and thrillers can have pop music? Im just going by what QT said a long time ago. He said IB is not going to have much period music from the 40s. Its going to be a mix of pop/movie music from diff decades.

don´t know i just think it would be strange to use pop music-whatever he will use, i am sure QT will surprise us with a fantastic soundtrack.

I’d like see some 30’s/40’s music in IB. I think it’d be weird having music from the 60’s/70’s ina movie that takes place in the 40’s…

Doesn’t really matter though, as long as it is a kick ass movie.

man I just hope IB comes out before 09

Oh, it won’t, Sean, it won’t. He’ll probably wait until the exact moment that we think is the most god-awful time to make it, and release it then.

I just hope when he’s done he’ll do something we would’ve seen from him back in the early 90’s. No more of these old school homages, just a kick ass gangster movie along the lines of Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, or True Romance.

Oh im sure we will see homages but thats the way i like it

Yeah would be excellent. He uses a lot of music from soundtracks and there were some wonderful ones back in these days, so I bet he’ll use some of that

i think that inglorious bastards is goin to be a mini series…when ever he says he figured out a way to do it he says he cant say yet and always mentions the fact that there are new ways to do things with television

i dunno about a mini series unless he did it with HBO or another uncut station.

No mini-series, no TV, no HBO. If it was, that’d suck.

IDK from the sounds of it, it isnt going to be your conventional movie i mean he keeps saying i found a way to do this but i can’t reveal it yet. Watch the interview with charlie rose on google video with QT and RR april 5, 2007. RR says one more Sin City then a series, then QT talks about IB and a bio pic on John Brown he wants to do, which might be his last movie. And any other interviews he does and he talks about IB he always says i figured it out, and mentions television…im hoping it isnt a mini series on hbo or anything, im hoping for since some reports say that the movie is 6 hours, 3 movies, it’ll be his spaghetti western trilogy only with WWII iconography as he says in the opie and anthony interview. Personally, i could sit through a 4 hour QT movie even a 6 so who knows all i know is that i want it to happen next.

Sebastian: Don’t let it go (laughs). And people wonder, when is he gonna make Inglorious Bastards?

QT: That’ll be the next thing I do. Not only will it be the next thing I do, it’s the next thing I have to do. It’s the next thing I must do. It’s my next mount everest. It’s like Kill Bill, big giant epic projects, challenging like mount everest. And Kill Bill was my last one. That is my next one. And I almost mean to do it, so I be the filmmaker I wanna be when I’m done with it, and have something else, that I am super passionate about. So if you hear about me all of a sudden coming up with something else I am doing instead, then it’s just me being “I’m afraid of what I’m supposed to be doing.â€

How come you didin’t film the interview, was it a no cameras allowed thing?

yea it would have been cool to watch.
