So I was watching Ichi the Killer for the first time yesterday (8/10, but might go up after 2nd viewing), and when one of the mob bosses was screaming at Kuhirakuna (that guy with the cheek vaginas), I thought, “Geeze, that’s Boss Tanaka!”
So I searched, found some more actors that play both fields.

I doubt it’s coincidence, I mean, the weird looking guy was the same type of guy in both movies, Jun had the exact same angry look in both, and why else would a screenwriter who did a small cameo in his film be given a part in a Hollywood movie?

Akaji Maro played in “Kill Bill” Boss Ozawah and in “Suicide Circle” Detective Murata.
Was he the same guy who was in Audition or did he play the younger detective?

 Just so you know, Yuki is the broad who's apartment Karen and Kakihara go to to find out shit and then Kakihara breaks her fingers.  Shun Sugata AKA boss Benta, was the large bodyguard who didn't like watching all the violence.  And the "weird looking dude" is Naoto Takenaka, who is in quite a few Takashi Miike films (including Happiness of the Katakuris, on of my favorite films).  I think the only people QT didn't put in Vol.1 were my 2 favorite Japanese actors, Tadanobu Asano and Kenichi Endo.
BTW, who the hell is Kuhirakuna???  Are you referring to Kakihara?
If you couldn't tell already, Ichi the Killer is my favorite film.
Edit: Also note that in the House of Blue Leaves chapter, one of the Crazy 88's gets his mouth sliced a la Kakihara's signature "smile", then after flipping off of one guy's shoulder's, the bride chops a guy in 2, like Ichi does to that one bastard.  it's easier to see when you have the Japanese version that's in color ;)

Who was Boba again? Tanaka also played in Kikujiro as one of the Yakuza Henchman.

He was one of the Yakuzas. His character name in the movie is not coming to me, although I don’t know if they even say his name in the film. Have you seen the movie? He’s in the opening credits, credited as Boba, not Yoji Tanaka. If you haven’t seen this movie, I highly recommend it, Tarantino loved it and, like I said, he gave a special thanks to the director (who’s only directed one other film, Party 7, which I just ordered), Katsuhito Ishii in the credits at the end of KB vol.1.
Yeah, I own the shitty HK dvd of it. A cool ass movie and Tadanobu Asano is a pimp. 8)

If I’m not mistaken Ishii-san was involved in the anime sequences in Kill bill which explains his credit.
Ishii has a third film coming out called The Taste of Tea which stars Tadanobu Asano yet again.

This isn’t from Ichi the Killer, but Kenji Ohba (the bald guy at Hanzo’s bar) was one of the characters in Sister Streetfighter.

This is kind of unrelated, but after reading the Ichi the Killer comic/manga, Saburo’s (one of the twins) death is just like O-ren’s. Ichi slices off the top of his head and you see his hair fall on the floor.

I love that guy who got gutted by Go-Go, he’s so fucking awesome. I’ve been seeing him in more and more Asian films lately- he was in Ichi of course, and I just recently saw him in Ju-On: The Grudge and I think one or two other movies. Can anybody give me a list of all the movies he’s been in?
