How are you going to watch this the first time?
Are you one of those people who can’t do things for yourself without someone holding your hand…
No, I just don’t go for a night at the cinema by myself… If I wanna watch something by myself I’ll do it in the comfort of my own home and rent a DVD or something. In this day and age a night at the cinema is with a girlfriend or with mates. It’s just not something that’s done regularly around here.

Movies are a personal experience anyway, the only reason people go with other people is to relate about what they experienced to one another. Going alone isn’t anything weird.

My guess is the first place that will get it is a little independent theater down the street from me. They always get the good stuff first. I’ll probably just go with whoever is willing to come with me! Maybe have a QT Marathon first? Make some veggie “Kahuna” burgers, whatever that would involve…
You’ve gotta be a real nerd to go and see a film in the cinema alone. No one does that here unless you’ve no friends or a creep, maybe it’s different in other countries ;D

I’ll be lucky if I can persuade any friends of mine to go see it after Death Proof. Mind you I’ll probably have to be persuaded myself come the time…unless I really feel it’s going to be magnificent.
I just really don’t care for other people in general. I LOVE going to the movies alone. Other people always wanna sit further back and it pisses me off. Or they gotta wee, and come back and ask what they missed. Or they just miss something because they’re stupid and ask what just happened. Or they cough, or sneeze, or breathe with their mouths open. I want to sit close (third row is usually where the handrail is which makes a perfect foot rest), I want peace, quiet, and respect, and I want my own armrests on both sides of me.

Now, going with my mate JB for my second viewing will be alright, cos he’s the biggest Tarantino geek I’ve ever met in my life… And he’s very cuddly. He smells great too. So I will be able to wrap my arms around his arm, lay my head on his shoulder, and enjoy it fine. Just not the first time. The first time watching a new Tarantino movie in the cinema is a religious experience, and should be treated as such.

i go to the movies alone all the time. if i wanted to wait for my friends, i’d go to the movies only once a week… so i may be a nerd but by the end of the day, i’ve seen a shitload of films 8)

Yeah, and I’m sure you have a much happier life than he does too.

Kinick, you seem like such a miserable sod at times. Is it a trend for british guys to be such cantankerous arses? You’re not the first one I’ve come across that acts like he wants to piss in everyone’s cereal.

Not my cereal I hope!

I agree with tony and Geoi, it’s better to go to the cinema alone than not to go at all. And sometimes it’s even better to be alone than with your friends to watch a movie. It’s only my opinion but I often have a better time watching a movie by myself than with my friends, depending on the movie.

By going to the movies alone? Stop talking shite. ::slight_smile:

Wouldn’t know, I’m not British.

The Irish are better known for their cantankerous behaviour. It’s the drink.

I love seeing a Tarantino film the first day it opens. However, I’m not fucking around this year. I’m take the day off from work, and seeing the earliest viewing with my sister. Then I’ll see it a few more times with people who have theater manners. I’d rather go to a movie alone, than go with someone who doesn’t have manners. That just makes me homicidal.

I HATE MOUTH BREATHERS!!!

I don’t understand why some many people I know go around wheezing everywhere. I was watching a movie with a bunch of friends, and my two some-what overweight male friends show up and plunk down on either side of me. Of course, they were both heavy mouth breathers and out of shape, and I had to sit there between them while they both breathed so loud I thought I might have to call an ambulance. It’s a pet peeve of mine and I can’t stand it at all!!

Sorry, rant over.

I’ve never gone to a movie alone before, but I’ve been tempted to if I hadn’t happened to find a friend to come with me. I don’t prefer it, but I definitely watch a lot of movies in my room by myself because my roommates/friends that are always here are terrible to watch movies with.

That made me laugh out loud! A taste of the creature, eh?

I hate mouth breathers, too! hahaha Glad to hear I’m not the only one.

I dated the worst movie goer in history. She was perfectly pleasant anywhere else, but the moment we set foot in the theatre, she had the bladder of an ninety-year-old, the libido of a porn star and constantly asked questions about what was going on. The moment she started mouth breathing while we were watching The Departed… I knew it was over

I just hope kids don’t come in while im watching it and start playing with their fucking mobile phones all the way through the film…

I dated like 17 guys exactly like that. Except they weren’t like that just in the theater. It was in the car, in the bed, at the dinner table. Ugh. It’s why I’m single. Stupid stupid men.

Sure you did…

I’ll go with my man and maybe will bring my mother with us if possible, cause I know we’ll talk about it a lot, and she loves every QT film.

I think I’ll go to the most comfortable theater, even if it’s the most commercial, and the most expensive. Need to feel at ease.

I used to be quite the slut, err, I mean catch. Thank you very much.
