so there’s your answer. and you can Imdb the guy.
plus, he’s not only promoting Hell Ride, he’ll co-star and produce it.
and if people can’t tell the difference between “directed by” and “presented by” then they should buy a fucking dictionary

Seriously who the hell is Larry Bishop. (I know he was in VOL. II)
You got to love larry Bishop. He is a great actor (check the opening scene of Angel Unchained with Don Stroud) and I actually liked the film he directed with Henry Silva and Richard Dreyfus (don’t remember the title though)
I remember watching the one Roger Corman directed. . .“Hell’s Angels” I think, it definately had the word Angels in it, it was awful. I hate biker films.
Corman directed Wild Angels. the film is a mess but it has fucking great scenes in it. Also anyone who likes those films should read Hunter Thompson’s book Hells Angels
I loved Easy Rider but I never saw any other good biker film.

It bothers me that QT uses his name to promote unknowns. Like the movie Hostel, …
This is becoming a huge problem. He has let the studio use his name to market some really bad movies and this is hurting his good name. I feel this hurt Grindhouse to some degree. I know a few people who actually think movies like Hostel are QT movies. Average movie goers do not know any better and the way the movies are marketed its easy to fool the simple minded.
I was always against the notion of QT’s name thrown shamelessly around to promote mediocre movies, because I always knew it will eventually backfire on him. Once upon a time it was considered an event to go see a movie with QT’s name on it. Today, many people are like: “Tarantino, so what? I’ve already seen Hostel and Daltry Calhoun by the guy, they weren’t that great”. And you cannot blame these people for their flawed argument when half of the dvd’s cover is taken up by QT’s name. Producer, director…it’s the same thing for them and that’s the sad truth.
you forgot “my name is modesty”, which, by comparison makes hostel looks like a masterpiece
I think you’re all right. But all of this doesn’t matter for Hell Ride since he’ll star in it as well… This is not just another “Presented by Quentin Tarantino” flick.
I thought he said he quit acting?

I thought you were exagerating but yesterday a chick told me: “the only QT film that I refused to watched was Hostel” and I was like “what???”

No, its a bad move I hope QT will take notice to. Its really hurting his cred. He should never lend his name out, even if its movies he likes, if its not his movie. It makes the general public think its his movie and like scarface said, his name is plastered so big on the fucking DVD cover its no wonder people think he sucks now.

Click the IMDB link above and take a look at that photo supposedly taken from the set of Daltry Calhoun! It's so painfully obvious that Quentin's face has been digitally inserted in that picture to give the impression that he had some creative input on that piece of shit film. It's hilarious but really sad at the same time. It's this kind of shit that is making QT lose all credibility with the moviegoing public.
OMG theres no way that could be his head ahahhahaaa
Yeah, its kida upsetting that a director I admire so much is doing such things or is allowing such things to be done. I know he has enough money so why is he throwing his good name and honor out the window?

so why is he throwing his good name and honor out the window?

i kinda doubt that. who sais he is? because a few idiots dont get the difference between “presented”, “directed” and “produced by” ?

because a few idiots dont get the difference between “presented”, “directed” and “produced by” ?
a few idiots??? gotta face it: 90% of the movie goers don’t read the credits (even the opening ones) and don’t know the difference between produced and directed and presented… if they see QT’s name on a Hostel poster than they think it is a Qt film. i am sure a lot of persons think Four rooms or From Dusk till dawn are directed (or entirely directed for Four rooms) by qt… and that’s that
The primary reason why the promoters use QT’s name in the first place is that most people are easily fooled

Those idiots are the ones who did not go see Grindhouse. I can’t make my point any more clear than that. A few years ago a QT movie was a sure thing.
I dont know how many times Ive had to tell people these films are not directed by our man. Most of them think Im the one who doesnt know what Im talking about! I hope QT reads this board and thinks twice about adding his name, in any manner, to projects that are not up to his quality.
The primary reason why the promoters use QT’s name in the first place is that most people are easily fooled
Exactly. These people may be fooled into watching a piece of shit once or twice but when a really good movie comes along with Tarantino attached to it they may feel burned already. Its just common sense. Do not use a well known directors name to push crappy movies on people. Theyre ruining his rep and street cred in the minds of the public. Thats the worst thing to do if you want to make money and continue to work in Hollywood.
How is Hell Ride up for download already? http://www.mininova.org/tor/724026
Edit: http://www.mininova.org/tor/724307 Its reported to be the real movie!!! WTF???
There are two different files that were posted yesterday! I think Im going to try it and see what this is all about!
yea most people think that if you produce a movie your doing the job of the director.
