Chasing Amy is to me his best film. Clerks I have seen more times, but Amy is a realised narrative and the characters relate to each other better.
chasing amy might be his best script - but i never enjoyed it as much as his others -
It isn’t as funny, I don’t think. In fact, for some reason, I just found it plain depressing the first time I watched it.
I don’t understand the hype about Clerks 1. I actully think i’ts his worst movie. Clerks 2 and Mallrats are better.

The Apostle sometimes gets me due to a religious connection. Forrest Gump, yeah, I’d be lying if I said there weren’t some waterworks now and then. Hard to watch that scene when he asks if little Forrest is smart or if he’s like him.

My sister used to cry watching that movie back when she was like three. She shouldn’t have even been able to understand what was going on but it still had an emotional resonance with her. Great storytelling is the point I think I’m trying to make.
