Great movie until
in other words, whats the point of being cheesy and gory for the sake of being cheesy and gory?
Because it’s fun.

^said best right there.

You need to think outside the box. Read this statement?

Why is Kill Bill’s violence so funny? It’s stupid and corny. The body parts fly around like fucking hell and the blood comes out all watery and it bleeds like a fucking waterhose. Nobody bleeds like that. How can the Bride kill that many people when she’s outnumbered so much? She can’t jump that high. You can practically see the strings and the stunt doubles. It’s so fucking unrealistic and ghetto and shit.

^^If you can disagree with the above statement and have a reason for it, then you can understand why we like FDTD’s second half

FDTD’s action scenes werent supposed to be AWESOME or anything like that. its just an homage thing.

there are two different types of people who watch this movie.

those who get it and those who dont.

and you dont

The violence wasn’t over the top cheesy, it was great adds to the greatness of the film.

Sex machine changing into a vampire NOW that is cheesy.

Actually the Sex Machine himself is a legendary horror movie icon who did the special F/X for films like Dawn of the Dead and Day of the Dead. 8)
im asking you guys what you see in the cheesy violence, and you cant even give me a straight answer, we’ re just going in circles.
its the humour. and i believe one of us has already said that

Kill Bill had great choreography and fight scenes done by Yuen Woo-Ping.

Dusk til Dawn had cheesy special effects scenes done by Tom Savini. It was all in good fun, but not anything to call home about.

I know I wasn’t 100% right, I was jest tryin to make a point.
i thought the asian kid and the girl would probably have broken down and gave up, its too much stress on a person to realize there are vampires everywhere all of a sudden.  i think they would have been sheltered too much all their lives.  and kietel’s sudden reconciliation with God seemed too forced, just didnt see it happening while hes out shooting vampires
I thought the way Jacob fit into the story was pretty obvious.  He lost faith because yeah his wife died, but he felt an absence of God that led him to believe that if he can’t see it, he doesn’t believe in it.

There are so many parallels between Jacob’s faith and the vampires coming out of nowhere that it’s not even funny.  I would write an essay and theorize about it but I haven’t seen the first half of FDTD nearly enough to go into any detail.

First time I saw FDTD it was on the TV, so i didn’t see the cover, (i never read what a movie is about, so i don’t spoil the fun for myself, some critics always say to much), so i didn’t know what to expect.

Well, first part, crime-movie i liked very much,

and then the surprising second part, BUT i liked it aswell.

It’s so over the top, it’s pure fun

I love the criminals, I love the vampires, I love the whole fucking movie

how can people not like this movie?

everyone knows its a vampire movie. everyone knows the SFX are cheap and trashy. but that’s part of the fun.

it was NEVER intended to be a gangster film. period

I enjoyed it up to a point, but it seems like so much time was taken up with them just getting to the bar and seeing the Vampires, that they had to rush towards the conclusion, which I didn’t think was anything really special. Maybe if this movie had been edited differently I would have liked it more.

I thought the movie was terrific up until the part where Richie was killed off, that just pissed me off. but George Clooney(who i think is just the most gorgeous guy in the world) carried the rest of the movie well but i thought he looked kind of lost after what happened to Richie. maybe that’s just me. Overall i believe this was Quentin’s best movie ever.

In what sense?

The best movie he’s written? The best movie he’s starred in? The best movie he’s produced?

The vampire bit was fucked up, but hey it was meant to be a horror/comedy, right?

i think it was great with all these wierd vampires!

It was a horror/comedy and the best one I’ve seen, the vampire stuff was the heart of the movie. It was great, besides it’s a Rodriguez movie, Tarantino just made it so cool, that Rodriguez could never make.

how could ppl not expect the vampire effects to be cheesy and over the top? ??? All the trailers of FDTD showed the vamps in all its campy glory.
