Goodfellas SE DVD

It’s been quite a while since I heard that there will soon be released a Goodfellas Special Edition DVD. Does anyone have any news when it’s due to come out, IF it does come out? I desperately want to own the movie but I don’t want to buy the shitty flip-over disk which is currently present on the market.

There are rumors of it, Tony, as they are rumors about Mean Streets new DVD. There are even rumors about a Scorsese box-set! ( I hope this will not happen in this world)

About the Goodfellas DVD I hear it may be released in 2004(?)

Can’t wait for it, by the time I own the shitty old DVD and it sucks big time!

the problem with box sets is, that you only get them when they are all from the same company

Mean Streets (Warner)

Casino (Warner)

Goodfellas (Warner)

Raging Bull (MGM)

etc… hence Raging Bull would never be in the same box as the other three…and so on.

i dont like boxes, because in my shelf i have them in alphabetical order. i’d prefer good special editions

Aw man, 2004 is a long wait :’(

I´m convinced that there´ll be a special edition. I think, the DVD release of “GONY” would be a realistic date for a new edition. I don´t have a big problem with flippers, but the lack of bonus material and the goddamn snapper case are intolerable. But I´m sure, the SE will be much better. At this point ,WB was very reliable in the past.

It’ll be here one of these days.

Henry Hill said that he recorded a commentary for it.

One guy in a similar to this forum but for Martin Scorsese said that the Goodfellas SE DVD comes out on december 13th this year… :stuck_out_tongue:

Wow, I hope that's true! It would make a great Christmas present :D

They NEED to release it already!

www.davisdvd.com reports, that there will indeed be a Good Fellas Special Edition DVD in September 2004.

" Just as exciting, if not more important, is Martin Scorsese’s Goodfellas. The best film of the 90’s finally gets the respect it deserves with a two-disc special edition loaded with documentaries and audio commentaries. Look for this one in September,"

I own the shitty flipper…but are mos def gonna buy the SE…cool as fuck!

Harry Hill? Sweet. I own the flipper too, I hate flippers damn Warner bros.

NOW DO THE SAME FOR CASINO :stuck_out_tongue:

Agree. I like Casino just a lil bit more than Goodfellas.

Seeing how Scarface (Which is also a Universal-owned title as Casino) was able to succumb to fan demand to make a new special edition, I wouldnt be surprised to see this happen again for Casino. But I would bet that they would wanna wait til next year in hopes of a 10th Anniversary.

It will arrive August 17th along with a special edition of Mean Streets, After Hours, Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore, and Who’s That Knocking At My Door, all Warner Bros. titles.

The Goodfellas two-disc set has a few commentaries, including one with the real Henry Hill and a man in the FBI involved with the case, and one with Scorsese and his editor, Schoonmaker.

I can’t wait.

That’s awesome. I thought Goodfellas was the only special edition coming out that day. I’m definitely going to get Mean Streets and Who’s That Knocking…? Does anyone know what special features will be on these?

::EDIT::

Forget it. I found it. It’s pretty cool. They all have a commentary by Scorsese.
