Favorite Scene in Death Proof?

What’s your favorite scene in Death Proof?

My absolute fav:

Jungle Julia:“You hear me, butterfly? Miles to go before you sleep”. And THEN… If they say that…You gotta give ‘em a lap dance.

Arlene: WHAT!?

(Shanna laughs: hahahaha)

Jungle Julia: If they buy you a drink, repeat that poem, you gotta give a lap dance.

Arlene: That’s bullshit, I ain’t givin’ ‘em nothing.

Jungle Julia: You can do it or not but if you don’t everybody in Austin is gonna think you a chicken shit. And I don’t think you want everybody in Austin to think you a chicken shit.

Arlene: I aint givin nobody a lap dance just because of what you said!.

Jungle Julia: Look, You don’t have to do it for anybody you don’t want, I said you’d to it for the first guy who says it. So, If some geek comes over tryin’ to be cool, Just tell ‘em you already did it in another place earlier. No harm, No foul, but you get a free drink out of it. But maybe a little later in the evening you’ve had a few drinks, You’re kinda loosey-goosey, you’re safe with your girls, Then some kinda cute, kinda hot, kinda sexy hysterically funny but not funny lookin’ guy comes up and says it, Then maybe you did it earlier or maybe you didn’t.

I can’t just pick one.

The lapdance sequence. I was completely taken aback by the music and the direction. QT often has sequences in his films accompanied by music which are often the most cinematic scenes, and the lapdance was no let down. I didn’t fall in love with Butterfly, I fell in love with the directing.

The scene involving Stuntman Mike in the car with Pam is one of the greatest scenes he has has filmed, period. It is up there with the Mr. Orange toilet story, Vincent shooting up, Ordell killing Beaumont and the HOBL sequence. It was so menacing, scary and violent. It got to the point, there was no bullshit.

I thought the end sequence (how it comes about, the circumstances, it’s meaning and it’s placement) was one of the greatest ending sequences I have seen. Especially how there is one more scene after QT’s credit. I bet there is a good reason behind that.

I actually had tears running down my face after watching this film. I am so in love with it.

The b/w scene. I love the cinematography and the use of sound in that scene.

I loved all the scenes in Death Proof but (I’m sorry Ify) I think that lapdance scene was awfull!! Not because of the direction but because of the lapdance itself. I’m a PCD fan and I can’t stand this kind of “dance”, it was very realistic though, I think most of my girlfriends could dance like this.

Hey, don’t say sorry to me, say sorry to QT. To each his own

The camera moves and the framing is the bomb in the lap dance scene  I like the whole set design too, Guero’s looks so great.

i like how the first part ends. right after the lapdance up to the crash is the best part of the film for me

and the opening credit also

the opening creadits was awesome!

oh yeah! i remember i was in awe everytime i saw it

My favorite scene is definitely the ‘Hold Tight’ scene, great stuff.

to add to the symetric aspect of each part of the film, the girl who plays lana frank is actually a stunt woman

I think her name is Monica Staggs, she was a stunt person on Kill Bill

My favorite scene is when Jungle Julia text messages her man. I just love how he used the falling in love song from Blow Out. It really adds a lot of depth to JJ’s character. I did not like her my first viewing of the film, but after seeing that scene a few more times she grew on me. So far it’s my favorite and maybe it will change because I have not scene the extended version yet.
