I rather enjoyed ‘28 days later’… its not really your typical horror, but its pretty good.

You was first >:
Danny Boyle is really great, and this film is a real art.
However, the most frightfully thing I’ve ever seen was the match Hungary-Bulgaria (1:1) — there is a really scary moment in the end of the second half-time >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(
Black Christmas ,
All of the Jason movies
All of the Halloween movies
The Texas Chainsaw Massace ( both old and new)
Cherry Falls
Don’t know if I already posted my list here or not, but here are my favs:
- The Exorcist (still the best after all these years)
- The Changeling
- The Omen
- The Return Of The Living Dead (greatest horror comedy ever)
- Re-Animator (second greatest horror comedy ever)
- Dawn Of The Dead (original)
- Rosemary’s Baby
- The Thing
- Stir Of Echoes (horribly underrated)
- The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original)
1. Rosemary’s Baby
2. Silence of the Lambs
3. Seven
4. Creepshow
5. Texas Chainsaw Massacre
6. Psycho
7. The Changeling - the little boy in the bathtub really shook me!
8. Mommie Dearest - “NO WIRE HANGERS!!!” I was only 7 years old when I saw it - i’m scarred for life
9. The Shining - not really a horror film…but the two little girls are fucking full of HORROR.
10 Child’s Play
Psychological thrillers are much scarier than fake blood, but Texas Chainsaw Massacre still fucks my world(I think it’s the music)
The Thing is such a badass movie ( 1982 ) Kurt Russell kicks so much ass, one of my favorites … for comedies/ horror im inclined towards the evil dead series but for more serious horror well the only thing i can think of off hand would be the original ring

The Ring was pretty fucked up…but it has to withstand the test of time to be put on the list

I agree. It doesn’t really matter how many trick ponies these new flicks have - If there isn’t any substance, they’re worth…fucko. I mentioned Creepshow earlier. This one is a fine specimen of how a good storyline will take bad actors and poor photography a long way. I can still see the roaches bursting out of the doctor’s body, and I am still wondering what the monster in the basement looked like…brilliant movies rely on substance…period
1. Texas Chainsaw Massacre
2. The Shining
3. Psycho
4. The Blair Witch Project
5. Les Diaboliques
6. Evil Dead
7. Cannibal Holocaust
8. Rosemary’s Baby
9. Dawn of the Dead
10. Braindead
Gawd…All those old guys from Page 1 :’(
I’ll add Black Christmas to my old list.
my favorite horror movies
maniac (werid storyline)
last house on the left (horror/revenge)
sleepaway camp (ending is shocking)
silent night,deadly night (great storyline)
I rented Ed Gein last night. It was about the guy that The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Silence of the Lambs were modeled after. This guy, Ed Gein, lived in Wisconsin in the mid 20th century. He had some serious issues with his mother which led to his insanity. He began killing women and A)Making a suit out of thier skin, and B)eating them. The suit had breasts and a very llifelike vagina(with pubes and lips). It was quite disturbing - I highly suggest it. It was made by the same guys who made Dahmer and Gasey - acted out documentaries that are high on the cheese factor.
Has anyone seen Hostel yet? Its not out here in Scotland yet and I’m dying to see it!

Oh my god, I can’t believe it, this is too close to my current list which goes like this (sorted by horroriness (and that’s not a word) - how scared I was when I watched for the first time):
- Texas Chainsaw Massacre
- Blair Witch Project
- Psycho
- Rosemary’s Baby
- Night of The Living Dead (Romero)
- (Les Diaboliques)
And here it stops. I just wasn’t scared watching other horror films, though I haven’t seen all of your top 10, but judging from our extremely similar lists I know I will. SOON.
Edit: Ah, yes, Diaboliques in brackets because it kinda scared me, but I wouldn’t say it’s a horror film. More like very exciting mystery.
Everyone is listing Blair Witch? Why? I could have made that movie.
Everyone else is listing Texas Chainsaw Massacre - this is definately THE ultimate horror film.

No, you could not have made that movie.

what makes you so sure?
If you could have made the movie, then why did you decide not to, so that someone else can make it, and you can go on with your life working in some office and spend boring hours in an internet forum?
