Yeah, that’s the point. It’s like Jessica Alba in “Into the Blue”. Not a whole lotta people watching that movie for the acting. Sometimes eye candy for the sake of eye candy is okay.
you’re right, but to me eye candy is action, explosions and stuff, not T&A. if I wanted to get horny, I’d watch a porno. At least they go the whole way. And btw Jessica Alba is not that pretty, imo. She’s cute, but there are 3000 working acresses I’d rather do atm.

lol I work with actress’s on a daily basis. I respect them for their talents and not their bodies… but stilll… I’d hire megan fox just to get a crack at her… wow there goes all my credibility.

Yeah, I’m all for talent and what not but that doesn’t keep me from enjoying the soft-core exploitation of the female form.
And despite the fact that the main character is nearly nude the story is actually pretty good. I mean, I haven’t seen a script yet, and there’s about a million ways it can be fucked up, but the comics are a pretty good read.
I have been expecting this news for a long time. At least a full year ago, the video shop where I work received a drawn Fathom poster which I recognized from the comic book. And over the year I heard some preliminary stuff about making a feature film.
Maybe I will see it, maybe I won’t. I won’t be quick to jump on the “just eye candy” bandwagon though, because the comic was one of the staples of Top Cow comics, not just for eye candy. Though, I imagine that for the film it will go the way of Dead or Alive or Dragonball. So it will probably still be bad.
Yeah, I liked the books quite a bit but they were nothing ground breaking in terms of story which means that when it comes to script form they’ve got a great chance to really elevate it to something special or they’ve got the chance to dumb it down even further.
For me the joy of Fathom really was the eye candy, but not just the sex appeal of it (after all it is just a comic book). To me what made the book really stand out was the amazingly detailed world that Michael Turner created. The underwater environments could be absolutely amazing if handled right.
On the other hand, Megan Fox signed on to do an adaptation of Hack/Slash years ago but that doesn’t seem to have moved forward since then, despite the fact that every issue still says “Soon to be a Major Motion Picture!” on the cover.
