Fake teaser poster?

ok now I understand what you mean. but then they’re purposely fake. the marketing team probably didn’t have any pictures to work with aside from the brad pitt one and a few story boards maybe

yeah, exactly. however there is still the possibility that sum quentin geek made them :stuck_out_tongue: but i dont really care, coz these posters get me really excited about the movie :stuck_out_tongue: but wait, isnt the bear jew supposed to be wearing a wife beater? yeah.

I hope theyre just the actors heads pasted on some pretty terrible pre-made model templates. The only photo that IS real out of those is Brad Pitt, probably because its the only official photo out there (besides Til Schweigers). Wouldnt we have seen Eli, Melanie, Landa etc in their actual photos already too before these came out?

There is no real photos because the guy who made those doesnt have access to them, so take away that and you have some shitty photoshop jobs. Wow.

Id much rather see the finalized, QT approved posters than any of this stuff. Hell, Id rather see an illustrators or costume designers sketches of the characters rather than badly photoshopped junk.

Seb: Is there anyone you can ask about this at the studio? Someone there has got to know. Id really like to know if this is fake stuff or real. Its one of those things that should be cleared up so we dont have to speculate about it.

There’s even a mistake in the Landa one…they wrote Lada instead of Landa… :o

hehe, the writing of the names looks so amateurish anyway…

Well spotted!

I hope Eli Roth won’t be dressed like that in the movie, he looks ridiculous.

I have to say the guy who photoshopped these made up nice backgrounds, especially the Shosanna one. But look at how he cut out Brad Pit of the original picture, it looks so amateurish that I can notice it!

Cant wait to see the real stuff!

apparently, as pete mentioned, it is being sold at moviegoods.com, but it’s a pre-order so I’m asuming they just wanna make money and by the time it is supposed to ship (sais 6 weeks, right?) they will either tell you the product was cancelled or send you whatever poster is gonna be available for real

too bad, since I liked the idea behind the poster, but… I’m hearing it’s a fake indeed. too bad

So it IS fake? Im actually glad about that. And the poster mock ups too? Well, I didnt really like any of them anyways. QTs films always have cool poster artwork, so Im sure theyll create some awesome ones.

dunno just asked about the red one that was up on moviegoods also.

yeah i’m confident there’ll be awesoem stuff. as for the red poster, i just liked it, you know? the idea for a teaser. just the title, a splash of blood and the funny eagle with the bullet hole, it was original. whoever made it, great job!

It wasnt a bad idea, the bullethole with the swastika symbol. It reminded me of Raiders of the Lost Ark for some reason. Its just the fact someones trying to pass it off as the real thing is why I dont like that type of stuff.

It’s got to be a fake because the title is spelt wrong. What annoys me is how people are saying that the film title was changed. It wasn’t changed at all. No where, to my knowledge anyway, did QT ever say the title was going to be “Inglorious Bastards”. The spelling on the script was “Inglourious Basterds” and maybe it’s been that way for 10 years. Who is to know? We just naturally assumed that it was “Inglorious Bastards” as that’s the correct and proper way of spelling those words.

Also, I find the official spelling interesting. Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown sound like serious titles. All three of those movies had minimal “fucking around” aka crazy shit happening everywhere. With Kill Bill, as we know, most of it was QT having as much fun as possible (even if he went through a strong bout of depression during filming). It’s an amusing title, as it’s very simple and it rhymes. (“Death Proof” could be taken either way, so I won’t comment on that). So “Inglourious Basterds” carries on that tradition, and gives an inkling that the tone of the film will very much resemble Kill Bill as opposed to his other films, with it’s in-your-face aspects. Like Kill Bill, “Inglourious Basterds” is setting you up for something you have never experienced before. I for one am really excited, because with Kill Bill, despite it being far-removed from the tone and style of Pulp Fiction (my all-time greatest film), it was a masterful work of art. It has such an impact on me everytime I watch it, I always have an internal struggle with deciding which I like better - PF or KB? My heart says PF, but my mind says KB.

What I’m trying to get at is, even if IB is far-removed from other WWII films we have grown up with, even if it is something unlike his darker previous works, if IB is a rollercoaster of emotions, in-your-face, unconventional cinema at it’s visual and auditory peak… I am in for a fucking TREAT!

I see it as an amalgam of all his past films rolled into one. It will have aspects from all of them plus some new things we havent seen.

The title: Its gotta be some kind of in-joke. Like I said, noone ever knew what Reservoir Dogs meant, and noone will ever know why Basterds is spelt wrong unless QT explains it.

It’s ironic that he spells Basterds with an e throughout the script but he spells inglorious correctly in the script except in the title. There he misspells it. ???

Yeah, I thought the same thing.

When he spells it “inglorious” in the script, what context is it in?
