i just received my uncut Hero dvd from asia…and before i ordered i made sure it would play on my dvd player…it says its all regions …but my dvd player (region 1) is having trouble playing it…
could i just have a defective DVD or could it still be region problems?

Post a pic of the cover and some informations about the DVD, so we can see which version do you have.
And what does it mean that it has problems? Do you can not play it at all?
Mainly bootlegs of asia are R0 and playable in every player … 
Dvds from Japan and Corea for instance have different regions.
And post the name of your DVD player. Many players can made reg free by using a hack code. This is not illegal.
well when i first popped it in…it sounded like it didnt want to play…but after a few minutes of spinning and making weird sounds…it started to play…it played for about an hour and fifteen minutes…then started to mess up…scenes getting real choppy…sound goin out…and then it would just stop…id start it back up at that same scene and it continued to do so…

and my dvd player is a RCA RC2115P i believe is the number on it
hm, that is strange, cuz the DVD of your link is definatly the chinese limited extend version (Wooden set) which is a region 0 (in NTSC). And reg 0 is playable in every DVD player.
It must be a producing problem. You should send a mail to sensasia and explain that this happened from the very first time.
I will ask some people if there are more people with the same problem. Maybe you are not the only one…
Anyway it is definatly not a code problem. Have you tried to play it with an other player?
nah i havent played it in another player yet…ive been trying to figure out wha the problem is…and of course sensasian says i have 10 days to get back to them if its defective…and since im in america it will take longer then 10 for it to get back to them…lol…so i think i will email them about it…
You really should mail them, cuz it is a reg free version and if it works like you said it must be broken…
I´m not sure about your american laws, but in Germany you could send it back later cuz it was not a flawless product also later…

yeah ive already emailed them about the whole thing…and i did happen to find something at videohelp.com about my dvd player…a hack using the remote…i tried it…didnt work though…it consisted of pushing a series of numbers then pushing the info button…it looked like for others it worked…but not for me…
well they emailed me back…it seems the dvd is in PAL format…and my player does not play PAL…i also found out my player is discontinued…lol…its old…i bought it when dvd players first came out…well it looks like im in the market for a new dvd player…unless theres a way around the PAL/NTSC thing?

If this DVD is the original version, it is in NTSC and not in PAL! This is really strange. The cover you posted is a reg free and NTSC DVD.
You should mail them and say, that on various sites this DVD is announced as a NTSC version.
For information about NTSC/PAL and region stuff, check out the other child board about technical stuff.

if it SAIS NTSC, it most certainly is, unless you see weird images on screen.
my advice to you is:
invest some 80 bucks or so in a MULTI-REGION (region-free) DVD Player that plays NTSC AND PAL
should be a valuable investment
now theyve emailed me back telling me that them saying it was in PAL format was a mistake…it is in NTSC…and word…yeah ive been thinking about investing in a multi region player…
what would be a good place for me to get a multi region dvd player?..obviously im gonna have to get it online…any places you reccommend to get it from?
