I was very interested in Tony Gilroy’s sophomore film after his wonderful 2007 film debut Michael Clayton. Especially when Clive Owen, Julia Roberts, Paul Giamatti and Tom Wilkinson joined the cast. The film at first glance based on the trailer seemed like an Ocean’s companion piece but it’s gotten significant buzz as of late and sounds like an intelligent, razor sharp film and a hell of a good watch. Thoughts?

I am so fuckin’ jazzed up to see this. Love tony gilroy, clive, and julia, plus everyone in the supporting cast is pretty damn good. Planning to see it on my birthday, excited.
I hope it matches up to michael clayton which i was pleasantly surprised by. I went to go see it on a slow day at the local bargain theater after it’s limited run and had no idea what to expect, hadn’t really even heard anything big on it. The best way to see a movie in my opinion.

I saw Clayton in early Jan after it came out and had such terrific reviews, and I was blown away by Gilroy’s direction. He’s got serious talent.
no doubt. but this looks a little more humorous (who am I kidding, a lot more humorous) and i hope he can pull it off as well as he pulled off the serious lawyer drama. I really can’t wait to see what this guy does for the rest of his career.

A lot of people are saying he’s surpassed Clayton with Duplicity. it suffices to say, I’m very excited. Gilroy’s got the kind of style not unlike those in the golden age of cinema.

I can dig it. Have any of these people put anything up on the net about the flick, i’d love to read it.
All the stuff I could find and they were all positive. I’m hoping people come to their senses and check this out instead of Watchmen or Knowing.

Massawyrm falls madly in love with the incredible DUPLICITY!!
i can’t believe people would actually give Knowing the time of day but it’ll probably rock the box office. And hey!, Watchmen slipped behind the new Disney flick state side, some good news.
thanks for the links, you da man.
whatta ya think of Roger Ebert? He just posted a three star review for duplicity.

He seemed to like it, but he can be a little wishy washy. Still, mostly positive reviews. I’m either going tonight or tomorrow, looking forward to it.
