It will be exactly like the Departed steelbook. There’s a bunch out there besides the Departed one and they are all the same dimensions, etc.

That’s great! Then I’ll probably buy the steelbook edition. I just worried it would’ve been something like the Terminator 2: Extereme Editon DVD.

Hold on for a second, please.
The Steelbook at BestBuy is $29.99, or am I wrong?
And where do you get the standard edition that cheap?
I paid $20.31 at dvdpacific.com for it and the only place where I could find it cheaper was BestBuy, again ($19.99); but they don’t ship international

That’s the price on the website now but in the upcoming circular they will be advertised at the prices I listed. It’s considered a first week sale. After the first week or two the price will go up to $29.99 in the store (and maybe $22.99 for the normal…that’s a guess).

No, that’s not a steelbook. That’s a metal slipcover/lethal destroyer of DVD cases.
That’s crazy! Why didin’t they just release a $40.00 box set with both films and extra content. I know the movie didin’t do any business, but geesh, we’re not made out of money for christ sake!
Well, Death Proof will come with a $5 coupon for Planet Terror so you can essentially get that one for $11.99 bringing both to a total of about 29 bucks.

A coupon you say. I spit on your coupon! No, that really sounds like a great deal, I was still gonna buy it anyway, everything out there is crap. I’m still waiting for Hot Fuzz to drop down a few bucks, no way i’m paying 20 dollars for that man, what are we made out of paper money, teh! I think not!
you take the coupon and shove it up your ass, that’s how their calculation turns out a profit. only a small percentage of all buyers will go through the hassle and try to turn that coupon in.
I’m definitely getting it at Best Buy. Limited Edition Steelbook cases are awesome. My only criticism (based on my experience with my Departed DVD) is that the DVD’s are more difficult to get out of the case. You risk snapping or bending the disc the first time you try to get it out. And you also have to take the first disc out in order to get to the second disc because they are sort of layered on top of each other. But it’s worth it. It’s a really cool thing to have. Especially with the 30-minute “making of” bonus.
