That isn’t a review of the movie

Yeah, not an actual review.

oops. Close enough, it talks about the early reviews coming out of cannes.

Yeah, I got that.

Negative but the reviewer really wanted something better. He wanted to cheer, he didn’t like giving it a bad review.

Well, seems to me like the reviews have been mostly bad…or at least not as excited as we hoped they would be. Its certainly the most sensitive subject he has ever touched upon, and hes being so outspoken about how great he thinks this movie is…thats an invitaion to critics hatred hehe

Anyway, im a little disapointed, but quentin’s opinion about his own work matters more to me then the critics opinion.

I wonder how much that hurt it, his proclaiming it a masterpiece.

i will pay very little attention to reviews on the basis of two things. 1) the critics slaughtered death proof and i loved it. 2) the critics love safe movies such as there will be blood. i watched this movie last night. oh my god what a pile of shite! no story, bad soundtrack, no action all dialogue. i bet none of this was said about the movie!!! tarantino is a genius! he is pure entertainment i KNOW i will love this movie. august 21st cant come any sooner!

well, we have to admit, that doesn’t sound good right now. :frowning:

Quentin’s own fault, he was the one saying it was going to be a masterpiece. At the moment, it ain’t looking like one. :frowning:

If we are to be honest, yes.

I’m happy. I hope no one is really disheartened by the reviews. The sites that I can take seriously, have for the most part been behind the film. I’m very very happy so far. It’s funny though I think Quentin’s films are the greatest example as to why you can’t take reviews seriously. One review says Roth knocked it out of the park, another says he’s a weak link. One review says Waltz and Laurent steal the film another says Waltz and Pitt. And don’t think this means anything cause Pulp Fiction was met with mixed reviews and it won the damn festival, so don’t get agitated and worried over a couple not completely enthusiastic reviews.

mixed, slightly positive

You cant listen to any reviews, thats the thing. You gotta just ignore it all and decide for yourself. Critics are nothing to me. This is a big circus right now. Its very funny to see people scrambling after every review like we’re on Wall Street watching the stocks rise and fall. All that matters is how I personally feel when I walk out of the theater in August. I might be exhillerated, I might be dissapointed. I dont know.

Let the festivities continue!

Seb, you posted four that have been posted already. Sometimes I wonder if you read our posts.

That’s pretty unfair on Knick and I. We’ve spent the last two hours posting reviews for everyone here. Didn’t stop you reading them.

Im not saying anything against you guys. Im just saying the whole “rate a movie on reviews before you see it” thing. Its out of control. When was the last time anyone in here listened to any of these critics about a movie? I never buy into what critics say anyways.

Youre doing a great job collecting the reviews tho. Thanks.

Thank you Pete. And you have a point. Let’s judge the movie as WE find.
