Critics Reaction to Basterds
WOW, the answer is right in front of your face.

He’s making the case that the reason why KB and DP sucked is because or partly because they were “talk-fests”. I’m simply ponting out the fact that RD (especially), PF, and JB can be considered “talk-fests” as well. Just cause there’s a lot of talking doesn’t mean the movie sucks.

Anything else moron?
hahaha. Am I seriously entertaining this?

No, he’s not. He’s talking about quality-wise, entertainment-wise etc, storytelling-wise, isn’t he? Nothing to do with “just because they’re talkfests”.

Ergo, you’re reply looked incredibly stupid by saying something like “Why bash DP and not RD when RD has as much or even more dialogue in it than DP.” What a moronic reply…especially so when you infact like one and don’t like the other.

LOl at you wondering why you’re entertaining it when you were the first one to mention it!

He says that “QT indulged in a 90 minute talk fest” when talking about DP. I said that RD is probably more of a Talk Fest. So yes, moron, he is using “talk-fest” as a reason to why DP sucked. Dummy.

And you’re looking even more stupid trying to defend a guy who EXPLICITLY said that Bay’s films were/are more entertaining that QT’s. And no smiley could convince me you’re not a douchebag, sorry.

Wondering why I’m entertaining YOU.

Yes for DP, not KB. Death Proof is a film were NOTHING happens…or very little, and there’s boring talk for two hours. How else can it be described? Res Dogs had a STORY and exciting, meaningful dialogue, intense confrontations et al. Don’t you know why one is widely hailed as a “talk-fest” and the other a “classic”? Can’t you recognise and distinguish what quality is when you see it?

I’m not defending this guy. I don’t care about him. I’m simply pointing out the hilarity of your defense statements in particular in this argument. And that’s not a smiley, it’s a laughy, i.e. Laughing at you.

I am 100% positive that no one understands what Dutch_Masta is saying but Dutch_Masta. Don’t egg him on, please. Old.

Lets stop the in-fighting already. Its a waste of time as we know.

I know people that would consider RD a “talk-fest” and not a classic. Yes, I can tell the difference. But they are both talk-fests, one is just a more interesting and quality one than other. That’s why claiming DP sucks because it’s a “talk-fest” isn’t accurate, especially when RD and PF have much more talking.

LA Preview Screening (AICN)

Frank Lloyd Wright designs us a look at INGLOURIOUS BASTARDS & Jack Burton & Mr. Fuschia have...

Reviews sound positive to me. I didnt read every last word but these people seemed to like it. Not sure if this is the version from Cannes or the new cut. Did it say?

Someone asked QT what kind of film he will do next and he said a Western is a strong possibility. So maybe after all these films with spaghetti/US western themes/style he’ll finally do a true period Western.

From what I read of these reviews, there doesn’t seem to be much changes in this editing comparing with the Cannes cut. But there’s a good comeback of an actor in the movie (won’t spoil it) and this isn’t Maggie Cheung.

But is what they reviewed, the actual final edit or the Cannes entry but this time being shown in LA. Cause one of the critics who saw it in LA said that he wonders when the film hits the states, if it will be any different then the Cannes cut.

It’ll be very interesting to see how much is changed for the actual release. I’m excited!

This is my first post as a college graduate, UCR woot woot!

Shit man, congratulations!

Screw the reveiwers, I just want to see the damn film. its weird having almost all the songs from IB and never watching the movie. Kinda driving me nutts, Because i can imagine the Main Titles and the song “The Green Leaves of Summer”. He could’nt have picked a better song for a WWII film.

Nah, I don’t care what tracks he picks for his movie. The fact that he picked them is all that matters.

In don’t get why people are complaining about the negative reviews.

Here is the thing people need to look at.

This is a fictional WW2 film, already right there you got sensitive people who was in WW2 or knew people in WW2 and they won’t like it for that reason. You got Jews angry that they look insane, you got Germans who hate that they are portrayed as bad guys and you got the idiot historically accurate guys who will hate anything unless its based on a 100% true story.

Unlike all of Tarantino’s other films, it was violence and language that really had people not like his stuff now in IB you got not only violence and language but poking at WW2 in a fictional way, making jews look crazy and Nazi’s look like bad guys. I mean there will be a lot of hate for this film but think about this even though this movie is so offensive it still is getting good reviews for the most part.

Out of all the reviews out there majority of them are still positive and this wasn’t even a fully edit final version that people saw. It was not even done it is poking at history its violent, funny, quirky, and offensive and aside from violence it WW2 in reality wasn’t any of those.

The one thing I am worried about is the character depth, all the smart negative reviews complain there is not enough basterds and they have no depth and some dialogue scenes go on for too long. That is the only thing I am worried about. Death Proof flopped big time, QT and the Weinsteins need to redeem themselves, and QT said there is 20 minutes of extra footage still in the editing room that he needs to edit. At Cannes people talk about No Maggie Chung and Donnie’s backstory that is true but the movie wasn’t 100% finished. There is no proof no 100% concrete proof that Donnie and even Chung’s scenes are finally cut.

These scenes are both important but if they can only have one at least make it Eli Roth’s backstory, cause you get more basterds the Basterds Work is never done line is mentioned which is important and you get the origins of the bat and the feeling of him being a hardcore bad ass Boston head.

Maggie Chung’s scene is great also but if she isn’t in the theatrical cut it isn’t that important it just leaves it up to interpretation, and it makes it more mysterious but aside from that if they want this to succeed they need to do this.

Nazi’s as bad guys?! How dare he.

Ehhyyy! Tarantino101 finally learned how to write in paragraphs! Well done you.
