Contacting Quentin and others

I know this sounds rediculous, and ignorant, and idiotic. BUT, i saw this website that gives you celebrities e-mails, and Mr. Tarantino was listed, but you have to pay to get their e-mails. So i thought there was a slim chance that someone here would know it, or know another way to send a message to him. I admare him, and have some questions on writing screenplays, and would greatly appreciate any response. Also, maybe you guys could answer my questions?

  1. Can you do anything with only a screenplay? Ala send it to a publisher etc…

  2. Do screenplays also consist of things outside of diolougue and scenes? What i mean is do you provide backround info that wouldn’t be shown in the movie.

    Thanks again!

no if the backround info is not showin the movie it is not written in the script. and i would advise your to pick a book or reading info about scripts online its too much to explain here.

this site may be usefull to you filmmaking.com

Seriously, don’t try to contact QT! No matter how innocent your intentions are you’ll come across as a crazy stalker. Also, it would be in very poor taste to bother him. 2nd anyone can be located on the internet but I’m willing to bet this website is a scam. Just because you can find somebody doesn’t mean you should!

Besides, all of the questions you have can be answered by taking a screen writing class at your local community college or simply visit your local library or bookstore and study screen writing books. It’s not rocket science. At the most basic level there are two types of scripts:

  1. Dialogue script
  2. Shooting script

The shooting script contains camera directions for the director. Directors hate it wehen writers try to provide camera directions. So, unless you are making your script into a movie do not write a shooting script. Programs like Final Draft cost about $99 and help with formating. Your job is to only worry about the dialogue. If your into heavy visual descriptions write a novel. Publishers don’t publish screenplays into books unless the writer is a famous director OR your screenplay is included in a book (that you wrote) on how to write screenplays!

Check the net and filmmaking magazines because there are all kinds of screenplay competitions. You can get an agent that will submit your scripts for you or you can take the balls to the wall approach of just submitting your scripts to production companies. Just make sure you have a good opening hook to engage the reader.

Production companies get thousands of scripts a day. People called “readers” are hired to sort through the mess. They almost never read more then the first couple lines of any script before tossing it on to the rejected pile. If your screenplay format is incorrect they won’t bother to read any of it no matter how brilliant it is!

    Good Luck!

Yeah, if you want to meet QT you better be a famous director or a really hot chick willing to suck him off. Pardon the graphic imagery, QT is ugly.

Ouch! That’s cold! Sure he’s no Brad Pitt but he’s not fugly!

He’s brilliant, it dosen’t matter what he looks like. He sure loves feet though!

Feet are gross I like ear lobes.

I like boobs and soft long legs. Yummy.

Why does human anatomy have such stupid names? Boobs is a ridiculous word. Tits sounds a little more dignified.

[/quote]There’s a screenwriting board, not many people post in it ,but still.

Publishers don’t look at scripts. YES KEEP WRITING! Never give up! Work hard and do the best you can! Get an agent or try submitting it to a Production company.
