Has anyone checked on Robert’s imdb list http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0985694/ Is he actually thinking of making “Machete” into a feature? It says (2008). If its actually happening it’s a bad career move!
why is it a bad career move
First things first, is he actually making a feature? And it’s a bad career move because everyone in theatres were laughing at the trailer in a “what a dumb piece of shit idea” kind of way. For a trailer it was fun, but a feature-lenght film? Yeesh!!
Its going straight to DVD anyways.

From what i have read in forums they really enjoyed Machete(actually most people enjoyed machete more than the others)
I know I’ll like it. Machete was the best trailer, and most enjoyable, IMO. I think it’s awesome Robert’s doing it, why would anyone not want RR to make it? I’d also like to see Thanksgiving.
i rather see him make crappy straight to dvd slasher flicks than another of those stupid kids movies
Thanksgiving i would like to see the most.
biohazard come on man your not suppose to look at machete from a serious point of view i mean thats why you think its a bad career move , and thats what makes machete so great its suppose to be cheesy and over the top just like the rest of the grindhouse movies people didnt watch the machete trailer laughing thinking it was suppose to be a serious movie with serious acting that they thought wow what a sucky movie, it was the cheesyness and over the top elements that made it so awsome it was never meant to be taken seriously the reason that machete is going to be so awsome is because we are going to get much more than that 30 second trailer were going to get a full length movie to laugh our asses off

[/quote]Point taken. I’m just saying that some OTHER people won’t know that. My brother hated GRINDHOUSE, he said there was no plot. . .etc Personally I don’t want Rodriguez to add another flop to his credentials. I like his Mariachi trilogy, he should make another one. Sort of like a modern The Good The Bad and The Ugly. Bring back Sands, El Mariachi (of course), and just make another badass character, a Lee Van Cliff type of character. . .etc. I’ll still watch “Machete” when it comes out, I just feel Robert can do better than that.

I think you get the wrong impression of why people laugh. In the case of the faux trailers, most people were laughing because of the nostalgic feeling from watching these old fashioned trailers, and remembering how silly and over-the-top some(most) of them can be. And also others, including myself, may laugh when generally overexcited. Now, personally I think the idea behind Machete is brilliant and I would go see it in a heartbeat -including many others.
Try watching a trailer with other people that actually THINK that the idea behind the movie is dumb. What do you usually hear after the trailer? Silence or whispers in the theatre about how dumb the movie actually looks. I’ve never heard an audience laugh at a trailer when they didn’t like it.
I agree.
Machete will be good, look how good the trailer was.
without a doubt its gona be good but i would much rather have a thanksgiving movie.

yeah it would but what are the chances of a grindhouse 2 lol.
do you mean a sequel to grindhouse with the same characters, or another grindhouse movie which wouldn’t have shit to do with the current grindhouse? (except some references of course)
He means Grindhouse 2 should be Machete-Thanksgiving.
