Just for you guys to know, this Weinstein Co. Asian fund started to be put together a year or smg ago. so it has nothing to do with GH poor performance. My hint is still that this remake idea is a PR thing to raise $$ for this fund (“we have attractive projects in dvpt, pls invest” lol)

There will be A LOT of angst in this world if he makes anything but Inglorious Bastards next. Everybody and I mean EVERYBODY - even the fucking haters - want him to make IB next. He said so himself, he’s done his little fun project, now is mountain climbing time.
Maybe if Grindhouse was a hit, he’d be able to move on to IB. But looks like an epic isn’t in store to be his next film. At least he’s not in movie jail.

I really hope QT just continues doing his own work and lets other directors handle remakes. He has plenty of awesome sounding ideas for future films.

Like City on Fire?
JK.
But hey, look what kind of a gem we got because of that film. I’m sure his Come Drink With Me remake will have many original elements.

According to this source, QT is set to remake an old Shaw Bros flick, possibly being his next project.

Hope this isn’t true, that’s all I’m gonna say.

That would fucking own. Have you people no faith in Tarantino? Didn’t you like the Pai Mei section of Kill Bill or HOBL from Volume 1?
Before my computer broke, I had a downloaded copy of Come Drink With Me and edited in “Akage No Kelly” by Thee Michelle Gun Elephant as the background music and it was a transcendent experience.

Haha, damn, you seem to have quite a bit against Tarantino, taking shots at him at almost every instant, yet you carry on “being a fan”, it’s intriguing.

What has Grindhouse not being a hit got anything to do with him not making IB next? Also, do you realise how many people are yearning for IB? I’m sure it’ll make A LOT of money.

We do have faith in Tarantino, but we don’t want to see another Kung-Fu flick. He’s done that, he should move on. He can’t possibly still be in that frame of mind because if he was he would have made a Kung Fu film as opposed to Death Proof. It’s WWII epic masterpiece time, everybody is waiting.
He hasn’t made a kung fu flick, unless you count the 10 minute Pai Mei section in Volume 2 or the crazy 88 fight in Volume 1. Everybody bitches and moans and doubts Tarantino no matter what his next film is, especially the fans themselves, because for some reason nobody has faith in him because everyone tries to tell him what his next film should be or why he shouldn’t make this film and so on and so on. Quentin will make his 9 hour, 3 film epic war extravaganza whenever the hell he feels like it. You’re not Tarantino’s manager, are you?

Yeah, well, we were all pretty damn sure “Grindhouse” was gonna make a lot of money. Guess it didn’t. And the fact that it did do so poorly is a big hamper on him making “Inglorious Bastards” next. “IB” is a big, big movie, probably costing way more than “Kill Bill” ever did. The Weinsteins love Tarantino, but they’re not stupid. They won’t shell out $200 million or so dollars just to get empty theatres. I would imagine Quentin does have to make something smaller again this time. Something that isn’t going to need to make so much in order to be successful. Then he can make his master opus. It’s just the laws of Hollywood. You can’t immediately make a massive costly epic after a major box office flop. You have to prove yourself again.

Why would the haters want him to make IB next? That doesn’t make sense.
tarantino said in my interview, that if he’s doing something before IB, then it’s because he’s not ready for it. coward. hahaha, but well, he likes his shaw brothers
I wouldn’t say ‘coward’. If he defines this film as his masterpiece. Maybe he doesn’t want to fuck it up. I write when I know I can write my best. Maybe he wants IB to be perfect. Timing is everything.
I’m sure Seb was just kidding

What? Everybody was sure Grindhouse was going to make a lot of money? When was this? Tarantino wasn’t even sure it was going to make a lot of money, why would the fans be sure? In fact, QT knew it was going to do badly, that’s probably why he isn’t concerned with the box office takings. Also, there are a lot of war films fans out there. They greatly outnumber the number of exploitation fans. It’s a totally different market.

Why doesn’t it? The IB project is so anticipated, that even the haters want to see it. It’s the one film everybody wants Tarantino to tackle. They may hate QT’s other films, but they want to see what he can do with a war film. Just because you don’t like a director’s films, doesn’t mean you can’t be interested in a new film he is making.
I will watch anything QT makes but I am not looking foward to this at all.

When all the industry professionals were predicting at least $40 million on opening weekend. Their prediction is why what actually happened is being called sub-par.
I heard Quentin wanted to make a romantic comedy about a girl who loses her virginity to a serial killer. Then she becomes one herself, and starts chopping up penisis, which she stuffs and uses as dildos. It’s called “My Guilty Pleasure” .
Come Drink With Me is a great film and if he was going to remake any film, probably a good choice because it essentially pioneered new territory and influenced HK cinema from then on. But because of its age, it has been surpassed many, many times in terms of spectacle since it was released. So making a remake that is more exciting than the original wouldn’t be too hard.
But the original is still one of my favourite HK films of all time.
see, we’re going nuts over a line in a weinstein press folder that’s probably ages old and might not even be accurate
QT wouldve told Seb about this movie anyways. This is total BS.

Where are you getting your information from? Who is anticipating IB so much besides you, Ify? If someone’s a hater then they’ll hate just for the hell of it so of course they wouldn’t be anticipating it either. Silly Ify. Have you ever heard of anybody hating a director and still being interested in what their next film is? Have you, Ify? I don’t think so.

I hope so…
That being said, IF he did do this next, I’d like to see Chow Yun-Fat in it, that would kick fucking ass, although it’s just a pipedream.

Buono the cock-eyed bastard: You’re not Ify?
