Why all the whining about Simon Pegg? At least he is an actor. His character isn’t in the film that long and frankly his scenes are among the funnier parts of the movie.
Please, no mention of things in the script, please.
Sorry I thought I was being pretty vague but obviously not vague enough.
Spoil it all guys. Tell us the ending while youre at it.

It’s not that you’re spoiling it, it’s just that a lot of people (including yours truly) don’t wanna know anything about the plot yet.
If you’re wondering what’s okay or not, just don’t say anything.

Simon Pegg fits into comedy not action, but no one should ever doubt the powers of QT
I’m still waiting for Bo Svenson to be confirmed… :-</E> (I knew and liked him before Castellari’s Inglorious Bastards)

a few weeks back he didn’t know anything. i sent him another email a good hour ago, because some other dude on the imdb threw in the rumor again. just making sure
It would be cool to see Bo’ster in the film. Maybe he’ll have a cameo somewhere in there. It would be funny if QT cast him as a German officer.

cool. good thing you’ll keep us informed.
so far no Bo, fellas
I say Steve Buscemi for Adolf Hitler!! Picture him with the greasy Hitler hair, little mustache. Freakin hilarious!
John Goodman as Churchill
Aldo: What are these?!
Churchill: My dirty undies Lt. THE WHITES!
My bad on my earlier post should mention a spoiler.
If there’s not gonna be any more “stars” per say, I would like to see at least one QT regular fill a role of a Bastard or someone.
Be it a Buscemi, Madsen or whoever
Anyone agree?
why does it have to be a QT regular. he can’t cast his reservoir dogs until he’s 80 years old… he needs to cast young people, coz young people are fighting in wars… madsen, buscemi, all over 40ish… brad pitt at least looks younger than that, sort of
For the fun of it. QT isn’t playing by any rules.

very true.
Kurt Vonnegut once wrote about how war movies are full of guys like John Wayne when in reality wars are fought by pimply-faced 18-year-olds who are scared out of their minds.
Hello all, I dont post much, but I have been lurking around and reading what you all have been saying about Pegg.
I think Simon is well up to the challange of a QT film. His list of work is becoming more and more impressive by the months. While he is mostly in comedies, there are scenes with some serious acting in those movies, and he always pulls them off. Also, some of you may know that he is playing Scotty in the new Star Trek movie, which Im sure is a serious role, and which I am also sure he pulled off perfectly, although, I am not a fan of Star Trek, so I wouldnt really know.
Look at the end of Shaun of the Dead, when Shauns mom is dying. That was a very emotional scene that I think worked exactly how it was supposed to. While crying over your mums un dead body isnt the same as… well… those of you who read the script know, its still a great portrayal of serious emotions.
And the entire last half an hour of Hot Fuzz is basically pure action. Simon, CAN do action. I agree that Roth would have been a better choice, but shite happens and you cant always get exactly who you wanted, and Simon Pegg, is not a bad choice.
Anyways, even if you arent a fan of him, PLEASE please dont slag him off, because Simon is one of the nicest and most down to earth guys. He really puts himself out there, and goes over the top with generosity, so just be nice.

I would love to see Goodman in IB somewhere.

Very true. I’m kind of tired of seeing Madsen in every other Tarantino movie, even through I love him to death it just gets old. It’s gonna be nice to see some new blood.
