Casino or Goodfellas?

Lorraine Bracco’s voice is annoying. [/quote]

I totally love her voice. That’s why I got so fond of her character in The Sopranos. She’s perfect. Calm and somehow husky voice.

She sounds like she’s always whining, and indeed in Goodfellas she always is, haha. Seriously, if I had live with someone like that I’d kill myself.

i like her in goodfellas. your description of her acting brings medicine man to my mind…

Definetely Goodfellas

though i never watched casino ???

Casino was good but nowhere near as good as Goodfellas, although Marty tried, he really did.

when casino came out, a critic said: casino is to goodfellas what El Dorado is to Rio Bravo. And scorsese said, well, i hope i’d get to make my rio lobo too. ahah

having say that, the films are really different to me. goodfellas is the story of one man. even though there are a lot of characters, by the end of the day, it’s the story of Henry… whereas Casino has a wider scope… it’s a real ensemble piece, it’s the story of an entire town! it’s far more complexe. and i’m sure it was a much more difficult film to make than goodfellas. i can’t choose between them, i think they go great together

Wow, very much so. I prefer Rio Bravo but as a kid, I always used to watch first Rio Bravo and then El Dorado (taped on the same video, ahah). Though I like Rio Lobo a little bit less. I watched it later too. The kid nostalgia wasn’t the same.

rio lobo is the first i’ve seen, when i was very young (à la Dernière séance d’Eddy Mitchell 8) ), the nostalgia factor works for me, even though, it’s clearly not nearly as good as rio bravo…

I don’t really think there’s this huge difference between the two. They’re both class. One just had the misfortune to be released after the other, and has stood in its shadow ever since.

fortunately, ten years later, casino starts to get recognition…

Quite a few more people voted for Goodfellas over Casino, hmmmm…

i am one of the “I’d rather have my head put in a vice, than decide” persons. even though right now my favorite is Casino, i know next time i’ll watch goodfellas, goodfellas will be my fave again…

Goodfellas. I could rewatch Goodfellas to my eyes bleed. Casino…not so much

One of my favourite cinematic montage’s. It highlights Scorsese’s (and Schoonmaker’s) knack of marrying the perfect visuals with brilliant music. Fucking brilliant!

Goodfellas has the copa cabanna tracking shot, the wedding scene, the pink cadillac montage, the list goes on and on. Goodfellas by a mile.

yes but the storytelling in Casino is more complex, original and rich than in Goodfellas…

Casino just goes on and on and on and it also has Sharon Stone in it… At least with Goodfellas, the leading lady is the more entertaining Lorraine Bracco.

Goodfellas, in my opinion, is even better than The Godfather.
