1st post hello here we go…
In the Christepher Walken watch scene in PF he mentions Butches Grandfather had the watch during WWII now seeing that Inglorious Bastards is set in WWII does anyone think that Butches grandfather could be one of the Soilders in the movie ?
i think this could be another one of those QT movie connections that he often uses only this one will date back a long time ago. If this movie does get made it wouldnt surprise if Butches Grandfather is in it maybe Bruce Willis could even play him

i doubt it and this sounds like that rumor about the vega brothers. i really think that any form of artist that shows what his fans want to seee is too commercial…the good thing that i always found about tarantino movies was the fact that the characters were so different, you never knew what new stuff he was going to come up with even though you knew what type of a movie a tarantino was…so i hope and think that inglorious bastards will be something completely different. and not those commercial movies of producers that were once good and that try to become rich off there past successes when there not good anymore.

i know, but you want quentin to make continuating factors in his new movies from his old successes and im just insisting that its better if he makes characters that are completely new…i think one of the biggest suspences of his movies are getting to know completely new wiered misfits of society that quentin always cleverly chooses in his movies.

But it would be cool to hear something about the watch, maybe on the background: “My child has to get this watch.” or something like that.
If Butches Granfather was in IG he would be a tottaly diffrent character Butch wont be born for about 40 years and we probaly dont need to know anything about the watch the character if there is one could just have it on him

It would be cool if Butches granddaddy did come in IB. Even if there was some sort of reference to him, like his name being quoted or something.
I boudt it. If any of you actually listened to Chris Walken’s monologue you would know that Butch’s Grandfather was on Wake Island in the Pacific. And if any of you would take the time to look it up, the battle of Wake island took place on January 15-18, 1942, where as IB sounds more like it’s going to take place in either late '43 or early '44.

Well I’m not quoting anyone, but I’m saying if it’s about fighting the Nazis it probably won’t be taking place until '43 or '44 especially if we’re talking about the western front in Europe.
We don’t know anything about the movie though, at the moment it’s all speculation is it not??
Also, QT might probably jump between the timescale!
Good point. I was just making an educated guess, but I don’t think IB will involve the Pacific war as much if any.

i think hes right, Walken’s character said that Butch’s grandfather was a marine. and i think IB is taking place in Europe during WW2 not japan .

fcking brilliant point i was almost begining to like the idea…but i still think its better if wesee a completely different story told/re-told by quentin…ps the fact that were only months away from new year and i havent heard new stuff about ib is suspect…the movie had been withdrawn manytime, was meant to come out on 2003/4 but didnt…hope it comes.
You can’t really complain. We got Kill Bill in that time. If we don’t get Inglorious Bastards next, I’m sure we’ll get something else that’s really cool. And QT has promised that it won’t be another 6 years again before we get another film. And I think Eleanor Coppola convinced him that it should be his next film.
He’s probably just taking a year off. And don’t forget, he’s not totally finished with Kill Bill. It’s still going to be re-released as one film. He’s going to be very busy promoting it. And I’m guessing that it’s going to be re-released next summer to coincide with the Special Edition DVD release. So production may not start until 2006. Which means the film won’t be released until 2007 or 2008.
The grandfather doesn’t have to be the main characture
they can always have a 10 second appearance of him

according to what i heard that somebody read that kill bill 3 aint coming till ten years untill that little girl in the begginning grows old enough to fight with black mamba.
yup i just checked it out on a tarantino site …it will be called the kil bill squal and itll come in 2020.
