If you go back and re-watch Vol. 1 (Thanks to Constranded’s “spoiler”) her name is in there.

You can find it in Vol 1 (if you watch it and freeze the frame where she’s buying her plane ticket), or you can find it in the many spoilers throughout this forum. But, if you wanna stay pure or something, yes, it will be (according to the one version of the script) revealed in Vol 2.

Bill even says her last name in Volume One.
Yeah but it can also be used interchangeably as the slang term “kiddo”.
true, but I feel that she was using it as her name.
Yes, we’ll find out. And frankly, that Kiddo name is a really crappy name in my opinion
Yeah. It’s a crappy name for a cool character. :’(

…so this is what a glitch in the matrix feels like… ÂÂ
…and i mean deja vu, for all you slow people out there.
ok thats cool, i hadent noticed before, and why would he not tell us outright, anyone know?
Well, If you read the original tarantino script, you will see that Quentin says: “Her name is bleeped out till I want you to know!”. He probably wants to keep us interested. I mean, would you pay attention to her name if it wasn’t bleeped out? No! So bleeping out a silly name will automatically make it interesting!
I have one question, too.
But with a big fat spoiler…
So, is Kiddo or Beatrix her first name? Which is her familiar name, which her first one? thanks
SPOILER
I would say, this is obviously clear. Or not??
Kiddo is her lastname, I guess.
Just closed a double topic:
f_is_for_forensics asked again for the bleeping out the Brides name:
someone shed some light on this?
crossover aswered:
to keep audience interest in the movie or something, i dunno
FilmGuy answered:
I think it was because, when the name is finally revealed, the story becomes much more emotional. The tone is suddenly changed. It’s no longer a Bride out for revenge. Now its a more personal story.
Ify answered:
I[i] think it was because of two reasons:
I think it’s because really she is “The Bride” up until that point. She’s not vulnerable or pitiable or anything. She’s just this stone cold killer on a mission. Then you see the thing with Pai Mei, and he interaction with Bill, and you see she was once human; likable. Then we get to know her name (granted, a couple of scenes later).
At least, that’s my theory. It’s probably also just to catch our attention.
I agree with the previous post completely (Ms.Blonde).
As for fucking with people’s heads, it worked for me.
First you get shocked and startled by the Bride getting shot, close-up. Then, in quick succession, she fights Vernitia Green without so much as a hello, how are ya? Then the bleeping. I was very dissorientated at the start of this film, and thats why I love it. ;D
As Tarantino has said many a time, he likes to ‘fuck with the audience’ he wants them to feel many emotions. He wants them to feel happy at one scene and totally shocked in the other, and I must agree it works!!
…just like Sergio Leone
It’s definitly said it in the o-ren scene, she say’s it after the bride steps out from behind sofie.
