i also saw it for the first time just a few months back, loved it, uncut ofcourse, i saw the second one first, wich is beyond terrible, can you say too much action? i can and it sucks, first one was more mellow, sicker, loved it
This is my first post on this board. Tarantino has fought to bring classic Asian cinema to North America, in their original uncut form with films such as Hero and the films on his now defunct Rolling Thunder company. I’ve heard Tarantino say that the Battle Royale movies are among his favorite of all time. He even dedicated the Japanese Version of Kill Bill to the director of the films, Kinji Fukasaku. I wonder what the odds are of him fighting to bring them over to North America uncut. Does anybody know? Has this been discussed elsewhere. There are so many versions available in Europe and Asia but the bootlegs available for us Region 1 viewers are pretty dismal and incomplete. If anyone will release it here and do a good job, it’s QT.
i have no idea. But maybe you should look for a Chinatown store. The chinatown stores where i live have Chinese, Korean and Japanese films as well as Anime. They have english subtitles which is the only way you would watch them anyway (and french subtitles, always french subtitles!!). if you have a multi-region player then this is fine, also, you can buy online. As for an actual american release, i am not sure, i mean America is pretty bad with those things, i live in Australia and we have madman, so we get it exactly as it was but with subtitles, plus America has miramax and most of the time they try and run the chinatown copies out of the country. America is a pain for these types of things, but if you have multi-region (most of the time multi-region players are the cheapest ones anyway) then i stand by chinatown

My review from another forum where I made a thread
I love it. It started the trend of new era of classical cult films from Japan. Some say its the last classic to come out of Japan, but i think differently.
This movie was A* from the cinematography down the to acting. The novel form the asian writer Koushun Takami was adapted to the big screen in an absolutly flawless style. Its a perfect film, it grips you, and lets you go when it has to. The ending is something special too, not just an unplanned piece of doo doo.
Since the Columbine and all the other high school tragides in USA, i doubt this film can be stolen by Hollywood and made into a non-sensical piece of garbage like other U.S oriental re-made films. So its good that this will stay in its classic format
For those who have not seen the movie yet here is the entire movie on youtube. I will post the part one two it from there u can navigate going to all 12 parts they are ten minuates a piece and the entire movie is there i found part two too.

The book is excellent, but I still think that Kinji did an awesome job with the film.
