Your reactions on Waltz being on the poster seem a bit naïve to me. He won a price at Cannes, remember? If he didn’t win anything, his head might have been a lot smaller or even not on the poster, and his name might have appeard right after Mélanie’s.

And I know I shouldn’t lose faith about the movie, but if it gets that 40 minutes cut, the movie I longed for the most in my entire life might turn out to be a huge disappointment, I’m starting to fear that.
Also, I don’t want you guys to think I started to feel that today after seeing the poster, that’s something I have in mind since the first previews were released during Cannes…I don’t know. But what I know is that I want to see it more than ever now that I have these doubts, to prove them wrong
Also, although I don’t speak Italian, I’d translate the tagline like this:
“Welcome to the delirious story of an inglorious vendetta”…I can’t chose which language has the worst tagline, but at the moment they all suck badly :o

Brad Pitt has talent. It just wasn’t the right role for him. He played Jesse James really well in a really fantastic film but this just wasn’t that great a marriage of actor and character.
I’ve accepted Pitt as Raine. I know it sucks, but it’s done. Best to just accept it and deal with it.

Do we have a Spanish one yet? I love the title in Spanish, Malditos Bastardos. Already got the baseball bat one in Spanish too, awesome.
i’m spanish and I hate the sapnish title. its the first time that they translate the title for a tarantino film (and I hope the last one). the traduction is also not correct. bastard in spanish is more a status (illegitimate son) than an insult, and people NEVER use that word. also “malditos” means dammned, wich also change the meaning of the title.

Same thing here! It’s the first time they translate a Tarantino film in Greek. The title is the same and we use the word bastard in the same way BUT they thought it would be clever to write it wrong… I believe that the incorrect spelling has a certain point but in Greek it simply doesn’t make sense! Stupid Besterds…
That’s weird, cause in France we always are the first to get the movie titles translated (after Quebec, they translate everything there, it’s madness!), still, it’s gonna be called Inglourious Basterds here!

No they didn’t. And actually they could use a really cool word to do it.
It’s not the translation of Inglourious Basterds that bothers me but the nonsense incorrect spelling! They used the feminine type of the adjective :

I noticed however that “Malditos” means Damned. So the Spanish translation is not all too accurate. I mean “Inlgourious” as Quentin spelled it, means a person or persons who do a good deed for the sake of humanity and are not rewarded by it as a local firefighter would by saving 5 people from a house fire or something. I mean just look at that pilot who saved all those passengers in NY or the African pirate situation that got about 3 weeks of attention. The “Inglourious Basterds” are heroes, but not in the style of a Marvel superhero, asLt. Aldo Raine says in the trailer…well I don’t remember the exact lines, but he says they will use the same tactics of fear as the Germans have in order to defeat them all.
