i just found out that the prince charles theatre in london is showing planet terror and death proof back to back!
Im booking a ticket for monday 21st but i think the other showing is on wednesday during the day.
if youve not been to this cinema, you should, its wicked!
tickets are stupidly cheap, and the cinema itself is an old 60s cinema…apparantly its one of tarantinos favourite london cinemas too.
anyone else going?
I read that they’ve excluded all of the intermission stuff, like all the trailers and commercials. When I first saw the intermission stuff I was cracking up real bad, I don’t know how UK people can go on with the Grindhouse experience without the intermission.

well this is the closest im gonna get, without going back in time and travelling to the states, so its gonna have to do!
Mmm, yeah but still…sucks.
Heres a link from the Prince Charles Cinema website of QT talking about grind house and the cinema!! <LINK_TEXT text=“The Prince Charles Cinema … _15fps.wmv”>The Prince Charles Cinema</LINK_TEXT>
Jog on, pisshead! >:(
Prince Charles Cinema is awesome for it shows like every film released almost (or seems like it). They were showing just Death Proof like a little over a week ago. Shame I won’t be able to go. On another note, I’m always complaning about how the UK doesn’t have digital cinemas like the Americans do. Well I found out like a month ago, that there is now a new VUE Cinema in the Princes Quay Shopping Centre here in Hull. It’s the first (and only) digital complex in Europe. I couldn’t believe it. In shitty Hull, hahaha. I’m going to go there for the first time next week to watch No Country For Old Men, it’s going to be fucking mint.
so i thought id add a reply to this thread since ive been to see grindhouse, and even though it wasnt quite as it was intended to be shown, it was great to see both films back to back. (with 20mins inbetween to eat some fried chicken!)
and i loved planet terror way more than i thought i would- havent laughed that much in ages.
and machete HAS to be made!
highly recommend the prince charles theatre- great 1960s place, grindhouse worked so well in there- and cheap too!
i was a very happy girl for those few hours.
hey prince charles DID show the proper ‘grindhouse’ - intermissions and everything - for the first time last saturday apparently, i didnt find out til that afternoon though and it had sold out. edgar wright was presenting it as well. ticket guy said theyre going to show it again sometime later this month, i think on a friday so keep a look out on their site
p.s. ify, think the digital cinema things gonna take off in UK by the end of the year, some screens at the local odeon in south london are digital - saw ‘be kind, rewind’ on it, wasnt so happy bout the movie but it looked fucking amazing! though at the same time, part of the reason cinemas are unique is coz of the blurry projector image which you cant really get at home unless ur loaded… still, gonna see ‘paranoid park’ again at the BFI coz their ‘studio’ room has a digital screen as well apparently
Im bumping this thread as next saturday, the Curzon cinema in Soho is showing grindhouse at ‘Midnight Movies’. Music, free beer and then the films apparantly…as they should be.
i think it may have all sold out now, but my friend and I got in there quick and got ourselves a ticket- anyone here going?
Grindhouse, the B-movie double-bill feature film from directors Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez, will get a limited UK cinema run.
The movie will be screened in its original form starting in London on March 28 and touring various UK cinemas until June 10.

what to wear!? hahah
bump!
so ive FINALLY seen grindhouse as it was meant to be seen! back to back with all the trailers.
what a great night!
but…what? no lapdance scene? noo!
i don’t believe it . i was happy enough when i heard that Grindhouse is playing at the IFI in Dublin on the 19th and 20th of this month but i just found out that on the following week it is playing in my hometown Cork at the Gate Multiplex just down the road from my house. WOO HOO!
Holy crap. Just found out there is a showing tonight right near where I live. I can’t believe it.
