Anyone here a comic book artist?

#1

I kind of need one. So step right up.

Call Dex!

On the Dex Phone? Is that the red one or the blue one?

Ah, fuck it. I’ll just use the Dex Signal.

I draw. Not a comic book artist, by profession. But I’ve been drawing most my life. What is this for exactly?

I have a graphic novel idea I’ve been tooling for a year now and I’ve tried to get some artists to work with but most have fallen through. It’s a completely original superhero/vigilante origin story.

I used to draw a lot but I kinda dropped it, so I need more time now to draw.

But yeah, Dex could be interested. Ask him if he’s around. Pete has a different style but since he’s a freelance, he does a lot of drawings for different purpose (check out his avatars, he’s done them himself).

Well, all I have to show at the moment is some badly lit photos I took a couple of weeks ago. They are of some rough sketches where I was experimenting with a new drawing style.

But in all honesty, I am pretty bad with things like this. I’d probably just procrastinate and time would slip away. How long is said graphic novel idea?

From what I can tell that style would be perfect for this idea. I’d do it as serials first so it would accumulate into a graphic novel. So those individual parts could be as long or as short as I deem necessary. I’d gander about ten pages each one unless that part of the story needs to go longer. I procrastinate a lot too but I’m out of school now (and work) so I have so much free time to just work on whatever I want. I’d like to get long gestating projects done.

Well, I both write and draw. Mostly write. But when it comes to comic books, I have always been at a loss as to what would be a good story. So, drawing from someone else’s script would be kind of refreshing actually. I have a tablet at home for doing computer touch-ups. But I won’t be back in Australia until October. I’ve just been sketching in a art book I bought.

Well, then if we collaborated you could just do some spec drawings on characters in your book and then when you got home we could really get down to business. I’m loose with scheduling. I’m not gonna be some tightass drill sergeant demanding finished pages on deadlines or anything like that. I’d just like it to move at its pace and take as long as we need to to get it to come out perfectly. This is all of course only if you want to do it.

Sounds cool actually. What type of characters?

I can send you an outline of the thing and notes in a pm if you’d like to do it.

I’m still mysterious enough to surprise you, that’s great to know ! We used to do those comics with my bro as kids, he’s much better at drawing than me. Well, I’m good at it but he’s faster than me, that’s why I think he’s better. And he still draws a lot unlike me.

Keep us aware of the project if you both collaborate guys, alright ?
