I don’t think Seb will mind me pimping this out. It’s not really even for my site, but for an event we’re trying to have elsewhere tomorrow.
Over on my forum we’ve been talking for a while about ways that we could get together and do something that could bring together the community. The main idea is to get together and all of us watch a movie at the same time. Now, I’ve done chats over IRC before where we all queued up a movie and started it at the same time - but that can always be a hassle and the more people involved the worse it becomes. However, when my buddy Jon went to another movie gathering somewhere else, he discovered a way to stream an event so that one person could have the DVD and air it for everyone else. Last month we put on a quick little event and showed the European cut of Braindead and had a pretty damn good time.
So we’re trying to make this a monthly thing, likely on the last Sunday of every month. Which is of course tomorrow, and tomorrow we will be airing Ricky-Oh: The Story of Ricky. A gore-fu classic that features flying limbs and plenty of over the top carnage like you wouldn’t believe. So if you by chance haven’t seen it, or you wouldn’t mind seeing it again in the company of several other psychotic genre fans - you are cordially invited to attend VCinema 2.
My friend Jon hosts it over cam, and he’ll start the evening off with some reviews, some trailers and a DVD giveaway as well. After that, we tune in for Story of Ricky - which may very well be the best party movie ever made. It starts at 6pm PST/9pm EST Sunday, August 30th and will be held right here:

That’s the live stream channel. Currently you can view trailers for films that we’ll be voting on tomorrow night, with the winner being the film we’ll watch in our 3rd gathering.
Anyway, I know there aren’t as many gorehounds or crazy genre-fans on here anymore but I thought I’d throw out the invite. If you haven’t seen Ricky before, well, you are in for a treat. A hint of what’s to come:

Was definitely a blast guys. We had about 20 people show up and much gory fun was had by all. The next scheduled event is for September 27th 5PM PST/8PM EST. We’ll be showing the classic Shogun Assassin, so it’d be nice to see anyone representing QTA!

Shogun Assassin is the bee’s knees for sure. It was picked by those who attended the event and some of the members on my forum. Second place was Rome: Armed to the Teeth followed by Bad Taste and Ichi the Killer. No matter what, I don’t see us watching anything other than some good shit

We’re actually having a gathering on monday, it’s kind of impromptu and we don’t even have a movie just yet. Jon, the guy who hosts it on his rig, he’ll be picking a flick more than likely from his collection. He’s a Japanese cinema aficionado, so chances are it’ll be something like that. At least that’s what I’m guessing. Maybe some pinky violence or yakuza action. 8PM EST in the channel. Probably won’t have a huge turnout, but it should still be a fun gathering just the same.
