The Soundtracks

Post by Cipher_Born » Tue Jan 20, 2004 5:58 pm

I asume most of you listened to all of the QT soundtracks. Now wich one do you think is the best??

I definitely like Jackie Brown and Kill Bill the most,I can't make up my mind.
Jackie Brown has the smooth soul vibes etc....and Kill Bill is just... :P damn....the music gives me the shivers....

So I think I stick with Kill Bill...JB is runner up.

I see you and I got the same taste in music since JB was my favorite QT soundtrack untill Vol.1 showed up!

So now JB takes a backseat to Vol.1....We'll just have to see if QT can now top himself.

I liked the FDTD soundtrack a lot because it has some nice blues/rock tunes.

the Jackie Brown one was cool because it was moody and blaxploitation-like

the Pulp Fiction one is still one of the most popular soundtracks ever. so many songs on that album are still played in clubs every night and all

the Kill Bill soundtrack is also becoming very popular. I like it the most, because it takes you on a journey through QT's favorite movies and cult classics.

I also dug the True Romance soundtrack. The Reservoir Dogs soundtrack is total cult

Actually soundtracks are the center point in Tarantino's movies.

I don't like the Jackie Brown soundtrack, I just don't think that's good music. Reservoir Dogs has two fuckin' great soundtracks (Little Green Bag, Stuck In The Middle With You) but the rest is shit. So I like the Pulp soundtrack the most. Kill Bill is also very good but not better than Pulp and Reservoir Dogs.

1.Pulp Fiction
2.Reservoir Dogs
3.Kill Bill Vol. 1
4.Jackie Brown

Volume 2 will almmost definitely take number one, but until then:

4: Jackie Brown
3: Reservoir Dogs
2: Volume One
1: Pulp Fiction

1.) Vol. 1
2.) Jackie Brown
3.) Pulp Fiction
4.) Reservoir Dogs

I think QT's soundtracks got better with each movie he made.

It's a close one between Pulp and Kill Bill Volume 1, but I think Pulp just scrapes it!!

Kill Bill Vol.1 is his best yet. He uses Disco/Funk and fits it into dark Spaghetti Western music, Like how the Bride is looking for the PussyWagon and you hear Truck Turner. And then when she gets settled into the truck you hear Luis Bacalov's score to The Grand Duel. Then using old Kung Fu film music later when shes killing the 88s... awesome.

Kill Bill Vol.2 is his 2nd best, from Ennio Morricone to latin music. It had such a unique selection of music it was mind boggling.

Inglourious Basterds was full of suprises, I checked twice when I seen David Bowie's Putting Out the Fire. But I love the song... just not used to hearing that kinda music in a Quentin Tarantino movie, let alone a war movie. Because Quentin usually uses 80's rock, not pop or w/e. The Old German and French film music is very fun to have in the soundtrack. Also the War Film music is epic. I have The Meeting with the Daughter and Bath Attack in my iTunes and I'm curious to where and how they will be used in the film.. The Meeting with the Daughter sounds like something composed by John Williams in Star Wars or Harry Potter. When Diane Kruger is biting her fist and is laying on the surgery table (most likely having the bullet removed) I bet this is when "Bath Attack" is used.

Jackie Brown is full of so much Soul, Disco and Funk, its very relaxing, I play it when I'm going to sleep. Plus Its the first time he used someones score from another movie, Roy Ayer's score to Coffy.

Pulp Fiction has a late 60's feel to it with all the surfing music and other Oldies. Can't find movies like that anymore.

Reservoir Dogs has a weird simular feeling with its music as PF has, but at the sametime, they're totally different. Music and as a movie, RD stands out because it was QT's first movie
