Killshot (2006, pending release) - Lane, Rourke, Dawson

yeah thats interesting, i bought the book at a flea market some months ago. some people say it was one of elmores best books, im glad quentin is writting it because judging from j brown, qt is a fantastic writer, but not so good when it comes to making novels into movies.

The Elmore Leonard novel… being made… with no mention of QT. I thought he bought the writes to this?

I think it’s a great hommage to QT, who loves Elmore Leonard. Leonard has always said that QT did a great work on JB, which it’s right I think too. So maybe Leonard just wanted to make a reference to QT to show him that he loves his work too ! He didn’t need to mention QT, QT will understand if the hommage is right. For example : you notice the link between KB and this title, Dillontino, so why QT won’t ? No use to mention it, or buy the rights…

i think he’s only producing it now… dont we have another topic for this already?

Cast rumours for Tarantino’s Killshot

Posted on Thr, 12-May-2005

Now this sounds cooler than a frozen tin of pineapple.

Quentin Tarantino’s troupe is looking at bringing Elmore Leonard’s “Killshot” to the silver screen, courtesy the newly formed Weinstein company.

Lawrence Bender [“Pulp Fiction”] and Richard Gladstein will produce the movie, which would be released under the ‘Quentin Tarantino Presents’ Banner.

John Madden [“Shakespeare in Love”] is set to helm the film, which tells the tale of a woman and her blue-collar husband who become the targets of two killers after they stumble on an extortion plot hatched by the bad guys.

Already rumoured for roles, says Variety are Justin Timberlake, Mickey Rourke (comeback king or what?), Viggo Mortensen and walking wet dream, Diane Lane.
Rumors started circulating around Cannes that Viggo Mortensen, Diane Lane, Mickey Rourke and Justin Timberlake (huh?) might be the main cast for John Madden’s big-screen adaptation of novelist Elmore Leonard’s KILLSHOT (Leonard also wrote RUM PUNCH (was made into JACKIE BROWN), GET SHORTY, OUT OF SIGHT, BE COOL and others). The thriller follows a woman and her blue-collar husband who become targets for killers after stumbling upon an extortion plot hatched by the baddies. The film will be released under the branded “Quentin Tarantino Presents…” label, and produced by Lawrence Bender and Richard Gladstein. It is also a Weinstein Co. roll out in which Disney has a stake.
…this according to Variety

You can blame QT for that. He absolutely loves him.

1st pic from the film

The film also happens to be a “Quentin Tarantino Presentation”. His plan is finally becoming clear. You see, presenting films is a hell of a lot less time consuming and takes substantially less effort than actually making a movie. In fact, it takes no time and no effort. You just slap up “Quentin Tarantino Presents” in big bold letters at the beginning of the flick and bam, your work is done. This way, he can churn out at least four or five flicks a year and not have to deal with the headache of production. You know, let other people deal with that shit.

The joblo source says that Justin Timberlake star in Killshot. But I’m pretty sure that he is not.

Does any of you can confirm that JT will be in this movie (internet sources)??? Even imdb.com has no JT on the list of characters.
