Your favourite reference or "nod" in any QT movie?

Well, I’m not going to mention just one reference, but a cluster of references that happen within a very short time-frame, which always gives me goosebumps at it’s (musical and filmic) climax, mostly due to the closeness I feel with said references.

The wedding chappel scene in Kill Bill: Volume 2 -

  • The Chapel is on Agua Caliente Street - the name of the town in For a Few Dollars More.
  • Reverend Harmony (Bo Svenson) - made his debut on Here Comes The Bride and starred in Quel maledetto treno blindato or The Inglorious Bastards
  • Mrs Harmony (Jeannie Epper) - Stuntwoman, the stuntdouble for Linda Carter in Wonder Woman
  • Use of Il Tramonto from The Good The Bad and The Ugly , IMO used just as well as Leone did.
  • Shot from inside looking out into the desert just like The Searchers
  • Bill playing the flute from Kung Fu

That sequence there, as soon as Il Tramonto starts playing, it always astonishes me. It always gives me goosebumps, and it always reminds me of Tarantino’s brilliance. It’s a wonder how these scenes come about. There will be like a period of nothingness, or scene(s) where very little is happening and then all of a sudden BOOM, you’re suddenly watching a cinematic spectacle. The same thing happens when Stuntman Mike turns evil all of a sudden in that first action sequence in Death Proof. It’s cinema at it’s most cinematic with the intertwining of music, visuals and emotion.
